Keep seeing adds for these on my facebook, Maniko nails for example. Anyone tried them? Any good? I love a strong red nail but my technique is awful! Thanks

I use lily and fox nail wraps and they’re brilliant. Use the Australian site and postage is free and each set is about £2

ilovetomatoes · 12/02/2021 20:01

Great! How long do they last? You can take them off with regular nail polish remover?

Thanks to this thread I’ve just ordered some from the Australian site. Are they easy to remove with coconut oil as suggested on the website?

Lily and fox last at least a week. I take them off by lifting up thr edge and then working them off with cotton wool with nail polish remover - it’s no problem.

Nails have to be squeaky clean when they go on.

I use them. Absolutely love them.

I’m allergic to nail polish remover so without them I can’t actually do my nails. These strips have brought manicures to my life and they are so fun.

The brands available in my country are different, but I think they all basically work the same. The things I have learned
. Sometimes a batch just doesn’t seem to work. I don’t know if it’s because I don’t prep well or if it’s a bad batch, but occasionally, they peel after a day or two
. Most sets last the 10-14 days and I only end up removing them because as my nail grows the base of the nail shows
. Glittery strips don’t stick as well or last as long. Sometimes I have to swap one of those out. The plain gloss work better.
. I love that I can mix and match and do fun combos
. I get all sorts of compliments on my nails now.
. I want everyone to start using them so they continue to be available

I take mine off with rubbing alcohol.

I usually order from Miss Sophie or Color Flash. I've found them to be pretty good. I usually get around ten days from a set. I'm now trying some random Chinese set from Amazon I got as a gift. I'm only on day one so can't give a verdict yet.

I started a thread on here last year about them and no one replied. Hopefully this thread is a sign they are getting more popular!

ilovetomatoes · 14/02/2021 17:25

Thanks! Do you put a base coat and top coat as well?

OP posts:
eurochick · 14/02/2021 17:29

Top coat yes, base coat sometimes.

Frankinmachine · 14/02/2021 18:28

Does a top coat make it more difficult to remove? I've was hoping to be able to remove with coconut oil.

Snooks1971 · 14/02/2021 19:56

I WANT these! I do my gel nails at home but crave different patterns.
Can I please ask - what about shipping taxes to the UK regarding LilyAndFox now we’ve got this pesky Brexit? Anyone know?

MixedUpFiles · 15/02/2021 00:07

Top coat is complete unnecessary

eurochick · 15/02/2021 11:21

This was yesterday's effort btw. I wish the ring finger size had been a different colour to the little finger (and it would be on someone with wider nails using the set). But I'm pretty pleased. And they survived hair washing this morning, which is a good test of how we'll still keep they are.

If anyone is interested this is day 10 for the cheapy Chinese version I was trying. I'm impressed. There's two chips on the other hand but this hand is perfect and even survived me cutting my nails with them on.
