Appealing to anyone with any knowledge please! I have an eclectic makeup bag full of inexpensive items. I want to buy midrange quality products.

I would like recommendations for a lovely foundation, mascara and perhaps a nudes palette for everyday wear. Also, any products that you would say I need

I wear light makeup to work (start at 5am so don't spend much time on it) and only wear full makeup when I'm going out.

Thank you Smile

I think you need to define expensive and midrange if you want people to contribute thoughts.

Oh my goodness I’ve literally stumbled across the best mascara ever last week. It’s the new sky high one from maybelline! I usually use benefit of Charlotte Tilbury but this stuff is amazing...have a look! Foundation wise I stick to Nars radiant and palettes the naked ones are my favourite

I don't really know to be honest. I am so out of touch Blush

Thank you @Yellow85 I will take a look Smile

I use my Urban Decay naked palette all the time for both day and evening looks.
I also love nudestix cream blush, which is pricey but lovely to wear and comes with a blending brush inside the tube.

I’ve attended some virtual make up lesson through lockdown and as much as the make up is important almost all of them have said that skincare is more important. Your make up won’t sit right without it. I was recommended Ole Henrickson stuff and it’s made a huge difference. I usually just buy the C rush mini set from boots...

@Yellow85 thanks for the recommendation re sky high mascara, it's £19.99 on Amazon, is that a bit high for Maybelliene ?

GetTheStartyParted · 12/02/2021 08:38

@Thisbastardcomputer I was just looking at it on Boots and it's £9.99. Also on 3 for 2.

Thank you for all suggestions so far. Make up lessons might be good. Or even as my little sister, she is great with makeup, I am not Grin

Revolution which you can get online or in Superdrug have some really good stuff, most of which are shameless dupes Grin they have copies of some Huda palettes, including some of her nude palettes.

mackvic4 · 12/02/2021 10:02

the huda nude mini palette is good, only about £20 and the i second the sky high maybelline mascara. i use double wear or huda beauty foundation and even though its a splurge its definitely worth it for nights out etc, just use a cheaper foundation/tinted moisturiser in the day time

Yellow85 · 12/02/2021 10:03

@GetTheStartyParted try Superdrug too...I’m sure I seen 2 for £12 somewhere but it gets snapped up! I got it from beauty bay I think

Bananaman123 · 12/02/2021 16:51

Nars tinted moisturiser is nice and light as well as the ordinary (serum one i think)
No7 mascara, the more expensive arent as good in my opinion
Mac or too faced tip products
Too faced eyeshadows perhaps the chocolate bar one or tarte do some ni e ones but more expensive

FreekStar · 12/02/2021 17:37

Natasha Denona has hands down the best eyeshadows I've ever owned (and I own a lot)!!!

ParadiseLaundry · 12/02/2021 18:33

Re your eyeshadow pallet I just bought an amazing one from B&M. Yes, B&M. I always bought eyeshadows from Urban decay but I've realised that as long as you use a good eyeshadow primer (like the UD one) cheaper eyeshadows are fine.

I was after one with a good range of neutral matte colours, and it really fits the bill. It's a vegan one and last time I was in was reduced from 4.99 to 1.99!

Cornetttttto · 12/02/2021 18:37

If you like fuss free make up; here's my tip. Mascara by Maybelline, lipstick from Lisa Eldridge. Done! At least, that works for me. The lipstick doubles up nicely as a creamy blush.

GetTheStartyParted · 12/02/2021 18:51

Thank you so much. Will check all of these out and then try to decide Grin
