Exactly that! Please help. Cheaper would be better but I am happy to consider investing if it’s really good stuff.

Dew?

Mylittlepony374 · 11/02/2021 18:44

Face Theory.

DramaAlpaca · 11/02/2021 18:45

It's cheap and comes out of your tap - drinking water.

You're never going to recapture the glow of youth (I wish) but drinking lots of water will help your skin more than any lotion or potion.

You don't want it 'dewy'. 'Dewy' to me sounds damp and slightly sweaty Grin

PlanDeRaccordement · 11/02/2021 18:45

Pretty much any serum because the “dewy” look is literally oily skin.

NonsensicalHair · 11/02/2021 18:47

Not sure about combination skin, though I use the Body Shop Vitamin C moisturiser, think it's called Glow or something (with SPF 30) It really does make a difference to my skin and I'm over 50 with dry skin. It's for "..dull, tired, grumpy skin"!

Good make up - as I've gotten to 40s I find tinted moisturiser/primer/blur/foundation helps. A lot of 40s friends like trinny London, there's probably a thread about it.

doadeer · 11/02/2021 18:51

Cleanse, acid exfoliate eg Paula's Choice BHA, serum, vitamin c, Retinol and sun cream

MindBodyChocolate · 11/02/2021 18:51

I use the Trinny London stuff - BFF for every day and the newer serum (can’t remember full name) when I’m going into office or want more coverage.

I think the key to ‘dewy’ is something like BFF but then liberal use of a good under eye concealer and concealer for blemishes - glossier stretch concealer is good for this.

Tehmina23 · 11/02/2021 18:55

My skin (44) looks dewy when it's been well moisturised twice a day for a while & im wearing bb cream. Also it's oily which helps.

MamaMeela · 11/02/2021 19:03

Night:
Exfoliating with glycolic acid 2 x a week
Retinol every night apart from above
Night cream containing peptides / matryxil

Morning:
Vitamin c serum
Moisturiser with hyurlonic acid
SPF 50+

Make up:
Illuminating primer (Laura Mercier is good)
Trinny London BFF or Your Skin But Better CC Cream or Clarins BB Detox Serum
No powder (or if you must then a tiny dab of translucent powder on your t-zone only)

HTH!

Isit7yet · 11/02/2021 19:07

The flu

WinniePig · 11/02/2021 19:12

I use Kate Somerville cream (Delikate and the expensive peptide one) and it gives my skin a lovely glow which lasts all day.

NonsensicalHair · 11/02/2021 19:24

What products do you use at the moment?

I tend to think of 'dewy' skin as skin that's just plump and well moisturised with a tiny bit of a sheen to it. Simple to a Protect and Glow Radiance Booster - it's an oil that gives a sheen when you dab it on.

Bubblesdublin · 11/02/2021 19:25

Regular facials, also I like environ skincare since turning 34 last year.

NonsensicalHair · 11/02/2021 19:25

*do. Not 'to'.

DocMarteens · 11/02/2021 19:28

Arbonne do this CC cream that I really rate. It's a pain in the arse to order and I only got it to support a friend but it's one of the few products I try that I'd buy again. And Mac strobe cream

Icenii · 11/02/2021 19:30

Re: Under eye concealer. I'm always worried it will drag on my thin eye skin, which is getting very creppy and also sink into my lines. Can't it make it worse?

I tried a factor 50 sun cream with tint today for Avene. Looked OK but I can feel it on my face.

MumOfPsuedoAdult · 11/02/2021 19:41

Avoid face powders.

Chameleon2003 · 11/02/2021 19:42

MAC silver strobe on top of make up.

TramaDollface · 11/02/2021 19:44

Rosehip oil for me! I can cope with it very well so it does give a slight tint of wellness (fake tan effect on my pasty Scottish skin)

calamityjam · 11/02/2021 19:50

I'm 44 I find absolute minimal foundation, literally only on my cheeks where I have broken veins. Regular moisturiser. I have done this since I was 13 due to dry skin. I also find using a touch of well placed highlighter and cream blush helpful

glowingtwig · 11/02/2021 20:01

I like the sound of these. Hopping on to say that the borgeois BB cream is cheap but really good for blurring and dewyness and not expensive. Although it seems to be discontinued 😣
