I posted a while ago about foundation...tell me your best high street brand and best highend brand!!!

In a dream world I'd love a foundation that actualy lasts on my skin and doesn't show up every line on my face! Recently tried true match it just sat on my skin, settled into fine lines and then vanished.

Bobbin I know, I've read loads of reviews on it but I love a portable foundation, I actually purchased Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Hydrating Foundation Stick yesterday as I'm desperate for something quick, easy and flight friendly. I tested it out briefly and so far I like it.

Budget -Lottie selfie ready
Luxury - Chantecaille future skin

AndreaMartelsCoat · 21/02/2021 18:20

High street- No7 lift and luminate.
High end- EL double wear/ Dior forever glow/ Erbirian cc cream.

Those that say DW cakes need to look at their skincare, it's likely your skin is dehydrated hence it cakes.

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 21/02/2021 18:46

DW and Huda are so cakey

High End

HUDA Stick is so natural
Armani Luminous Silk
NARS Sheer Glow
Fenty Hydrating

High Street

Morphe 2 Skin Tint
Maybelline Fit me
The ordinary either one depending on what coverage your looking for
Maybelline Dream ??? It’s the one in a tall plastic tube

Aquamarine1029 · 21/02/2021 18:50

The Ordinary Serum foundation. I've been using since it came out and love it. Cheap as chips, too, so it's really affordable to by different shades to make your perfect one if necessary.

Jaem23 · 21/02/2021 18:50

It completely depends on your skin type! Different foundations will suit different skin types and wear differently.

If you have more of an oily/ combination skin, double wear is really popular although it is high coverage! Charlotte Tilbury’s airbrush flawless is another one that’s quite good for normal-oily skins.

I have dry skin and I’ve not found anything that beats Nars sheer glow.

Shisheido synchro skin self-refreshing foundation is a pretty good all rounder as well!

Aquamarine1029 · 21/02/2021 18:50

The Ordinary has a new concealer, too. Love it.

lunepremiere79 · 21/02/2021 18:55

Lily Lolo mineral foundation fairly low price point (especially on sale) and lasts ages
The Ordinary was nice but started settling into my pores and looking yellow towards the end of the day, so I binned it
Hydraluminous is also very nice.

Dior Forever in 2CR is one of my higher end favourites

Nars do sheer glow and radiant long wear foundations which I also like.

High street I found no7 stay perfect was a good option but not as long wearing as I’d like.

DidgeDoolittle · 21/02/2021 19:58

High street- no7 hydraluminous
High end- Bobbi Brown stick foundation.
I also like It cosmetics cc cream and Chanel Vitalumiere.
Didn't get on with DW. I thought the Ordinary was so awful I put it straight in the bin.

Longpinknails · 21/02/2021 22:17

High Street - Bourgeois- healthy mix. It's moisturising, but I find it is a good medium coverage foundation, which lasts well. I read somewhere that it's made by the same factory as Chanel foundations....not sure if that's true. My favourite high end is YSL Fusion Ink. Quick and easy to apply with a brush and you need very little. I'm on my third bottle, which is unheard of for me as I try so many. It lasts well, never sits in pores, never dries and doesn't disappear within 3 hours. I'd say it lasts well over 10 hrs.

Inspirationpending · 21/02/2021 22:22

Also like The Ordinary foundation but the coverage one, I find the serum too watery.
Bought their new concealer but settles in fine lines around the eye so glad it wasn’t an expensive mistake

High end has always been Mac for me

Cotswoldmama · 21/02/2021 22:32

I only do cheap! My favourites are Mua pro base for medium coverage and Revolution foundation stick for buildable coverage.

Hydra luminous by no 7 is my favourite ever. Even over Mac Pro longwear and various other.

I have dry skin and give a lovely fresh finish. It's lasts really well and I am a awful for touching my face absent mindlessly. I apply with a sponge and blend with a big brush.

I can build it up to and cover my awful thread veins around my nose. I'm 40 with dry skin.

I also need a great concealer! Have three none of which do the job.

harisonsmum · 22/02/2021 08:31

It cosmetics cc cream, though it is more of a foundation. I use the illuminating version and it’s brilliant. It’s the only foundation Iv consistently used, mainly cause it doesn’t sit in fine lines, but gives a natural yet full coverage. I hit 35 and struggled to find a foundation that didn’t set in fine lines and crease as the day wore on. Not sure if it’s high end but it is a little bit more expensive than high street foundation.

alwaysbethepigeon · 22/02/2021 08:32

High street - L'Oréal true match

High end not a clue because I've never been lucky enough to splurge on a decent foundation

Hersetta427 · 23/02/2021 21:49

High end. Dior air flash. Makes your skin look airbrushed and drugstore is elf photo finish.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 24/02/2021 11:58

High street: Revolution
High end: Bu Terry Terrybly Densillis

WrinklesShminkles · 24/02/2021 13:46

High end - Dior Backstage: buildable, very natural coverage.

High Street - No7 because their Calico colour is a great match.

PolaDeVeboise · 24/02/2021 16:08

Well, I've sworn by Max Factor Face Finity for years. Never gone 'high end' as I'm very pale and don't want to risk the outlay on the wrong colour.

MustardMitt · 24/02/2021 20:57

God I’ve tried sooooo many!

High street: current favourites are Revolution foundation stick and Rimmel Perfect Match.

High end: Erborian BB cream (better for me than the CC cream), Fenty Beauty, and when I’m feeling like I’m having an exceptional skin day, MAC face and body! Sadly getting a bit too old for that one though.

NEE1302 · 24/02/2021 20:59

Clinique Even Better Glow. It's very light but great coverage and lasts all day.
