Tell me about a super light, fast absorbing moisturizer?

My morning skincare routine is cleanse, serum, moisturizer and Biore Watery Essence 50+ SPF. But, I think my moisturiser is a bit too rich, and takes too long to absorb properly before I can apply my SPF.

Can you suggest a really light as air moisturiser that is quickly absorbed. Or do I just not bother with any moisturizer and just trust to my serum (Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced).

I love Murad clarifying oil-free water gel. Really light but moisturising and smells incredible. It is a bit spendy so I usually wait until there's an offer on it!

I've never found a particularly fast one, or trained myself to put it on, then leave it for 20 mins. I find that I'm generally ok using a serum, then the essence you have, and saving heavier moisturising for nightime. My skin is combination, so not sure if that will be enough for you.

Weleda Skin Light soaks in fast. Are you using too much? I put mine on in the bathroom so those vital ten seconds before I go to sort my hair/make up might make a difference.

The Clinique one in a pink pot in a gel moisture surge

It’s very light and disappears quickly

Simple light with SPF15

I like Body Shop Vitamin E day lotion. SPF30

I found the same when using a moisturiser and SPF so now use the Alpha H one that is SPF50 and moisturiser in one. I use a primer on top and make up sits well quickly - I use a thick night cream to work overnight.

Cerave moisturising lotion PM. It's brilliant. Sinks in quickly and doesn't leave a residue. I have normal/combination skin, prone to breakouts and this doesn't aggravate anything and skin feels really well moisturised.

There is one with SPF however I use a separate product so just use the PM one as a day cream.

I only use moisturiser over serum in the evening unless it is very cold and dry (like this week).

Dr Haushka Rose day cream LIGHT. Expensive but divine!

I was going to say this as well! Although I use the AM one, which contains low SPF, if I'm not applying a separate SPF. I don't use the AM one because it has SPF - but just because I like the texture and price! Lets face it (haha), SPF15 in a moisturiser, is providing little to zero protection anyway,

So yes, Cerave.

I use No. 7 moisture surge water gel oil free, it's really light and my skin feels lovely and soft after a minute.

Samantha Sona Waratah Flower moisturiser. Soaks in instantly and moisturises with no greasiness.

Bit old style but the Oil of Olay one in the squeezy bottle absorbs quickly.

ZaZathecat · 11/02/2021 08:55

I agree that classic Olay fits the bill. I guess it's not cool, but it's light, quickly absorbed, cheap and it works!

Nivea soft

thecatisaliveandwell · 11/02/2021 09:15

I don't often use moisturiser because I cleanse with Pond's Cold Cream, and that seems to do the job of a moisturiser as well.

I find that when I do need to moisturise, Lush Vanishing Cream is great. Very light, you only need a little..£21 for 45g. Particularly nice to use at bedtime because of the lavender scent.

Another cheaper alternative is Simple 72 hour gel cream..about £6 a jar and availalbe in Tesco.

La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra Fluide.
