Yak Trax - so I can go for walks when it's frosty!

I've been working from home since last March and my lunch time walks keep me sane. However the pavements have been pretty treacherous in the past week and I haven't wanted to venture out in case I go flying.

My neighbour swears by Yak Trax, she's out in all weathers walking her dogs and needs something to keep her upright. Has anyone else tried these, what did you think of them, or are there better alternatives?

Yes I've got Yak Trax. I dug them out yesterday and had a walk on some very icy streets with no problem. They feel quite safe

Yes I have some. I very stupidly didn't wear them when I went out for a walk this morning. It's all frozen, compacted snow on the pavements here - very slippery! Yak Trax are brilliant!

They're brilliant outdoors on the snow and ice but they are
LETHAL ON A SMOOTH FLOOR!!!!

So basically I could walk to the bus stop but would have to take them off before I got on the bus. Likewise I could walk to the shop but would have to get them off before I went in etc.

Here speaks the voice of bitter experience Grin
