Jeans

I haven’t worn jeans for years, having been very overweight for many years. I have had a gastric bypass, lost a lot of weight, with more to go and I’m thinking about wearing them again. My last pair were fabulous button fly Levi 501s, bought from a Levi shop after trying on many pairs. Do Levi even have shops now? I enjoy shopping online, but for jeans? Surely its a good plan to try several pairs before buying. Aside from anything else, the prices of good quality jeans make online buying difficult since it would probably need several pairs to be ordered to compare.

Also, I’ve read that straight leg jeans are on trend for 2021, but still see boot cut, flared, skinny and wide leg promoted. I won’t be buying them until I’ve dropped another couple of dress sizes, so happy to wait until it’s safer out there and shops are open again. If I do have to buy from online shops (due to a lack of good quality jeans in shops), I’m thinking Levi, Boden or Baukjen.

I would value thoughts and experiences of others.

Marks and Spencer are good for jeans. La Redoute stock Levis.

I think it depends on your shape/what you want to wear them with. I’m quite hippy with a small waist, and I like Levi’s 501s, and also their balloon leg jeans, plus Whistles barrel leg. I tend to wear them with tucked in tops, or things which sit on the waist. I think Levi’s are free delivery/returns, so if budget allows you could order a few pairs and see how they fit - they might also do Klarna.
