Such a thing as a thin/light foundation cream?

I rarely wear makeup, only on very special occasions as I can't bear the feeling on my face, it feels too warm and claustrophobic if that makes sense. I'm mid-fifties so beginning to need to hide dark eyes and join up the freckles!

Is there such a thing as a really light, thin foundation cream or powder that offers some coverage but doesn't feel as I have just described? To complicate matters I am shielding and can't go to a makeup counter to try different products. Any ideas?

Tinted moisturiser and powder foundations are worth looking into.

I wear foundation practically daily and it never feels warm/claustrophobic/heavy on my skin. Even when I have taken a break for a week or so. Maybe the problem was the specific products that you used in the past, what have you tried before?

The hourglass foundation stick is my favourite, however it can be built up to full coverage so unsure if it’s too heavy for you

I, too hate heavy foundation but I've just purchased some from Glossier, its really light and fine and there is a concealer which i have also for under eyes. Matching skin tone was easy enough and I'm really pleased with it. For clarity I'm 48 so the coverage is important too.

I am using Maybelline Dream Radiant Liquid and still find it sticky and heavy but not sure if it's even meant to be light.

I love Chanel Aqua Vitalumiere. Very light with almost no coverage but smooths slight variations in skin texture. Colours on website are true to life.

Boots no 7 city life tinted moisturiser is good. I’ve been using in lockdown downs on the very few occasions I want to wear make up. It’s really light. I don’t know if I’ll go back to full coverage foundation when things go back to normal.

I use BB cream (eborian is my favourite) instead of foundation as it's much lighter but still gives a bit of coverage.

I use Nivea tinted moisturiser or No7 BB cream. Both very light. I hate the feel of foundation too.

Lots of ranges have a tinted foundation or BB cream no you can buy them off the shelf in supermarkets

Thank you for the recommendations, I have found Garnier Bb Cream Original Light Tinted Moisturiser on Tesco online and going to pop one in my order for Friday.
