Bobbi Brown Foundations - serum anyone?

Anyone used it?

I've used Skin Foundation for ages but I need 2 applications to get any kind of coverage. I like it, but it's quite pricy as I use a lot.
Also used the stick foundation- it's okay but again, have to use loads to get any coverage. I have good skin but I'm very pale.

I've tried serum foundation on my hand in store and it always felt very greasy. Also, I think I read that it comes up a lighter than other shades.

One last question- probably no one can help but...am currently using Ivory in Skin Foundation. They now do a Cool Ivory and I wondered how it compared? I am very neutral in tone and Ivory is quite pink.

I love it! Alright coverage for me, makes me look dewy, obscures some imperfections, makes my skin look good. Tend to use it with BB stick or Nars creamy concealer where I need a bit more support. I've been matched to cool ivory and sand at the BB counters... Would agree serum foundation is lighter- I wear sand in the other products when I have a tan but can wear the serum foundation all year round. Only complaint is it doesn't stay all day. I have oily skin though and no other foundation stays except double wear which breaks me out after a few days. Only gripe was pippette packaging but they have now changes it to a pump. Prefer serum to skin, skin foundation sometimes settled on my skin whereas serum doesn't. You could try findation for colour matching...

I have it. It's VERY glowy. Perhaps a tad too glowy if I'm honest. I like it, but I tend to mix it with my N7 Hydraluminous rather than using it on its own. I have possibly got ivory. (DD is in the shower, I'll have a look when she comes out) I'm a Calico in Boots (best colour matching I've ever had) and a 52 in Bourjois if that's any help.

AuntieMarysCanary · 08/02/2021 20:11

Thanks both :)

As it's so ££ I may wait till I can see it in the flesh though I know BB will refund foundation bought online.

@StepOutOfLine I have used No7 Hydro in Calico but found it a bit too pink/ashy. I used 2 tubes as love the texture and coverage but the shade made me look a bit washed out.

In BBrown I used to use Porcelain but it's really too pale so changed to Ivory. In their stick foundation I have Warm Porcelain (though I'm not warm - if buying again I'd go for the new Neutral Porcelain.)

I keep sticking with BB as the colour range is the best I can get. In Clinique, Flax and Custard are not right and Breeze is too pink.

I got a sample of it and loved it but couldn’t justify the price, my daughter told me last week it’s on offer on ASOS but I’d already gone back to nars but it’s worth a look

Volcanoexplorer · 08/02/2021 21:48

I’ve got it and it’s ok, but not worth the money in my opinion. It’s very glowy and covers a few imperfections, but it’s much lighter coverage than the skin foundation stick which I prefer. It looks nice at first, but doesn’t last the day too well. Maybe if your skin is very very dry it might be better. Mine is fairly normal. I’m the shade cool ivory. I’m pale and fairly neutral toned. It’s an excellent match. For reference I’m Ecru in Estée Lauder and Mont Blanc in Nars (although this is a touch pinker).

Thanks again all. I think I will wait and try to get a sample when stores are open.

It is very pricey.

I found Mont Blanc too pink and went with Gobi which was a mistake- too yellow.

I think I will try Cool Ivory in Skin F once I've used up my current Ivory ( one full bottle not yet open- bought on offer.)

Cool ivory is definitely less pink than Mont Blanc.

AuntieMarysCanary · 09/02/2021 13:37

If I stick with Skin Foundation, does anyone use

Sand, Cool Sand, Cool Ivory or Warm Ivory?

I've decided Ivory is too pale for me once the sun's out as it makes my face a lot paler than my neck.

Mine is Cool Ivory and I find it slightly too dark truth be told- hence another reason i mix it a bit with Hydraluminous. It's fine for summer but just that tiny bit wrong on its own in winter. I'm definitely pink toned rather than yellow.

Thanks @StepOutOfLine. I think when I need to replace I will try cool ivory and sand. Hoping to get into a store to be matched but if not will do online when they have a decent discount! They refund on foundation online so will order a couple.
