Spanx Leggings

Has anyone tried these leggings? They’re pretty expensive, definitely an investment piece but wondered if they are worth the investment - I’m always very sceptical when instagrammers are raving about them!

I have the faux leather ones and they do look great. Really suck you in!

I bought a pair of their jeggings. I'm a size 18, maybe a 20 on a bad day so I bought the XXL that said size 22-24 as I thought they'd be snug.

Snug was an understatement. They fit my DD who is a 12.

I'd try them on somewhere, don't order blind. I couldn't return them so DD ended up with an £80 pair of jeggings that she didn't really want as they're dark indigo.

Not the spanx ones but I bought the m&s ones lately and I'm in love with them! So comfortable and flattering. Though appreciate this isn't what you asked haha

I have a size small and I am between an 8/10 - more of a 8 in the waist and 10 in the arse.
I also have the M&S ones, which are nice and much cheaper but don't suck you in like the Spanx do.

I’d say I’m an 8/10 but the issue is I need a petite length and unfortunately very very hard to come by! Found some on ASOS (the motto ones) just trying to justify £94 on a pair of leggings!! I have new look ones which are about the same but not the most flattering on the upper leg!

So, they are nice enough. I liked the holdy in effect. I am quite big, especially round the tummy, so this was great.

A couple of things put me off them. They are high waisted, but the waist did fall / roll down. I think I had the right size. I am quite tall, with a high waist, so it might be a me problem.

The other thing was they are quite dramatic looking, which I didn't feel as if I could pull off. They are tight fitting and quite shiny and black, which I just found too much. Felt like that geordie chef who wears the glam rock clothes! Cool on him, but not for me.

Anyway, all in all, I just wanted to be 100% sure, as they are pricey and I wasn't 100%.

Re fit, mine were the leather ones. I am a 16-18, on the tall side, and I bought their 16-18, which I think is their L. They fit me fine, apart from the waist issue.

I love them. I have the quilted version. They are so versatile, on a pay per wear basis they are great value. As an 8-10 the small fit perfectly.

Thanks for all the info! I’ve bit the bullet and ordered the petite size small from ASOS. Even managed 15% off so would be rude not too try them!

Even though I returned mine, I'm also really glad I tried them, as I was just curious after the hype.

A slightly cheaper but not dirt cheap option are the Sweaty Betty ones. They work for me and you can get them in a 7/8 leg measurement (optional).

Maybe put them on your reserve list if the Spanx don’t work out for you?

Thanks. Didn’t know they did non active wear. Annoyingly another brand that’s gone to far with the Insta promo that’s it’s put me off even looking there!

I have both the Spanx leather look ones and the velvet ones. Definitely buy somewhere you can return them easily.

I'm 10-12 and I found the leather ones fit me in an S but I needed an M in the velvet.

So they came - in sending them back! I kinda expected more from them tbh. They looked nice in the hanger, I’m a size 8. Slightly rounder in the thighs/bum. I feel like they actually made them look bigger! Just like a big leather bum. Not good 😂

Ah sorry op. They do promise the dream don't they? I felt I HAD to try them too. Did feel a bit like a leather sofa, but my big, leather bum is a lot bigger than yours 😂😂.

Haha they definitely promised more! I have found a very similar pair (also in petite!) from New Look! So anyone looking at them should go check it out!
