Is it me or is Boden stuff looking quite nice for once?

Just browsing the new catalogue with my cup of tea this afternoon!

Is it the coziness of tea plus snow falling that’s getting to me or is there ACTUALLY SOME NICE STUFF for a change???

I usually find Boden a bit twee (those ‘fun’ patterns set my teeth on edge) and often so weirdly shaped/boxy.

But this spring catalogue looks better than usual...

Just me? Grin

I agree but the skirt I like the most is £120 so won’t be ordering. Lots I’d like though.

It’s true it’s not cheap... I’m possibly being affected by the threads I saw on here about horrendous labour practices (slavery...) and the link to many of the cheaper stores I usually use (and tbf even some of the pricier end of the my budget like And Other Stories/Cos...)

I’m hoping Boden are good on this front???

I am probably able to justify the cost more and buy less of better quality if I’m happier with the ethics...

I’ve just ordered a summer dress and some wedges which look lovely on - I’m not sure whether it’s just me desperately trying to fast-forward to spring/summer though! When lockdown is over I’m planning on wearing things to look and feel good rather than saving things for “best”. I really want to wear more dresses and feminine things. I do think the majority of stuff from Boden is very boring for the price - it is good quality though.

I agree! I ordered quite a lot from the new collection whereas the last couple of years I’ve bought nothing.

I agree! It’s been just too ridiculously patterned and a bit out there for me but I’ve just snapped up a nice cashmere cardigan, some plain leggings and a (admittedly slightly out there) pair of shoes plus a bunch of stuff for the kids (which also feels less crazy than usual). I do like the quality of what I’ve seen so far. This, after carefully avoiding it for years!

I tend to only get the plain black stuff, or the least patterned dresses. I'd never pay anywhere near full price though.

Just got a black Ravello and a black polo neck jumper, both of which I'm really pleased with.

I've still got Boden winter stuff with labels on! And some summer clothes from them from last summer, not worn yet.

Silenceisgolden20 · 08/02/2021 17:20

Some Boden stuff is nice as they do petite. But I find non of their trousers fit me, even petite.
Their dresses are the best.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 08/02/2021 21:23

The quality and sizing I think are great for the price with Boden. I've always been lucky with liking their material and tops fitting properly around my bust and dresses that fit well.
Obviously not all cuts and styles suit every body shape but I pretty much know now what will suit and fit me which helps

Thanks everyone! I’ve got a bit of spare cash to spend on a couple of spring items so I am going to have a proper look through the catalogue and website this morning.

I haven’t had a proper look yet but I will now! I’d gone off them in recent years. What is everyone ordering?
