Not getting deletion messages

I just have a quick query about deletion messages, there have been a few threads that I've been on that have since been deleted, is it standard that an email or PM is sent to those posters who had contributed to the thread?

I had contributed to the "The Definition of Women" thread that was posted on AIBU but when I clicked on it I got an error message which usually signals that the thread was deleted? I haven't received an email or PM with a deletion message but wasn't sure if this is the done thing or if you post a response in the thread for people to read before it gets deleted?

FWIW I've never had a notification that a thread I've posted on has been deleted

If you go to 'threads I'm on' the deletion message will be there.

@JaneJeffer thanks so much! I normally use the app and on the I'm On section when I click the thread it just comes up with an error. Just checked on the website and there it was 😁
