Make up subscription boxes (UK)

Hi, I'm looking for a subscription box that is mostly or entirely make up. I used to subscribe to birchbox when it first became a thing and LOVED it but unfortunately had to cancel due to finances. Last December decided to buy myself a 6 month subscription as a treat - I've hated almost every item in the 3 boxes I've had so far, so doubt I will be re-subscribing once the 6 months is up. Unfortunately almost everything in my recent boxes has been skin care which I can't use due to eczema, I have my skincare routine pretty much perfect for avoiding flare ups and have to use new products over time which I can't do very well with small samples. Really disappointed as I used to get loads of fab makeup, some brands I hadn't even heard of and found some products I still use and buy now. The packaging has also gone downhill - loved the drawers and was so excited to start collecting more as I still use all my old decorated ones. Have received 2 bags (this months was like a weird mesh gym bag or something, I will never use it?!) and a sullen grey box with no drawer Sad

Any suggestions? I'm looking for something fairly cheap, would be happier with fewer products, but would pay a bit more if the products were something I really wanted and I knew it would all be make up! I really want to try Boxycharm but they don't ship to the UK and the main ones I've found like glossybox and look fantastic all have a prominent skincare element too. I wouldn't mind the occasional skincare, I just don't want to pay for masses of products I will never use.

Thanks in advance :)

Have you looked at signing up to Beauty Pie?

MummytoCSJH · 08/02/2021 02:00

Hi, thanks for replying. I've seen beauty pie mentioned on threads before but not sure it's for me as I would prefer to try different named brands and discover new things I would never think to look for myself. Not really a fan of the credit towards purchases thing either - I'll take a look on their website though. Thanks again!

I think you’ve answered your own question really.

Well, since I can't find a make up only box, I clearly haven't. I wondered if anyone knows of one which I would MUCH prefer to skincare oriented. 4 out of 5 product being skincare - which is what birchbox has been recently - isn't what I want, but I don't mind buying a box which is 4 out of 5 make up and 1 skincare. I just can't find one of those. It doesn't mean one doesn't exist.

I think you missed the point of what I was saying

scotsllb · 08/02/2021 03:06

I'm looking for that too. I cancelled Birchbox as it was mainly sample sizes and repeats.
I get glossybox and Roccabox which I love but would love a more make up orientated box

I clearly did - what did you mean, and why didn't you say what you meant?

It's so annoying isn't it. I've looked at glossybox and roccabox too and they look nice but I just think it would be so much better to get a full box of make up every month. I really hope the US only ones come over to the UK soon!

I cancelled Look Fantastic for this reason. I wanted makeup not endless creams I'll never use.

Have you tried LatestInBeauty? You get to choose your own 6 items and amazing value for money (if you pick well)...

MummytoCSJH · 09/02/2021 19:49

Thanks @247SylviaPlath I have looked at that actually and seen a few things I'd be interested in, I'm just wondering whether the items change every so often? There aren't enough I'd want for me to get one every month with the current selection but it would definitely be good as a one off if not!

bigbeautwoman... please quit with the cryptic clues and just spit it out as I'm intrigued and confused as to what you mean as well

247SylviaPlath · 11/02/2021 22:32

@MummytoCSJH - they now ‘drop’ 5 new items every Monday - so about 20 a month. They also have pre-prepared one off collection boxes which if you’re a member (for over 3 months) you get 15% off those collection boxes. Have been a member about 3 years and is the only one I subscribe to now because I can put together 6 items I really like each month. Worth following them on Instagram as they explain everything and provide spoilers on the ‘drops’ etc.

MummytoCSJH · 12/02/2021 14:52

Fab @247SylviaPlath I think I'm going to give that a go! Will definitely follow them on Instagram too. I suppose even if there aren't loads of new ones I want every month if I find something I like or already use I could just get a spare Grin Thank you so much!

I used Look Incredible boxes for a while- I loved the fact that you got full size products and more often than not they were make up! The deluxe box is about £35 though so pricy
