Talk to me about Tinted moisturiser/BB/CC creams

With lockdown and WFH, I can't be arsed putting on a full face of makeup. Problem is I look awful without it on. And feel miserable about it. So I want something that takes minimum effort in the morning but makes me look human. I'm thinking a bit of tinted moisturiser, some mascara and drawing my eyebrows on will work.

But I want a decent tinted moisturiser. I'm 40. Have a very oily T zone and still prone to spots around TOTM. I'm not too worried about wrinkles right now, but I do have very dark under eye circles. I'm also very pale, so don't want anything too dark or orange.
I currently use L'Oréal Revitalift day and eye cream which does help 'lift' around my eyes.

So, please recommend me a good, not too greasy or heavy tinted moisturiser that is going to actually help my skin instead of just covering everything up. Preferably for under £30. Grin

Clinique moisture surge CC cream

Opalfruits2 · 07/02/2021 19:55

I had a Laura mercier CC cream, it was lush, sure it was £24!

OfficeDrama · 07/02/2021 20:23

This is just right for me. I'm very pale with dark under eyes too and work mates have said my skin looks nice :) its £13.50

Laura Mercier and IT Cosmetics are both excellent.

You probably need a decent powder just lightly touched over your t-zone with a brush, too.

Glossier stretch concealer is lovely, too - very natural

Erborian is the best thing I ever used, you can get small tube to try and when you buy directly from their website you can get some samples.
But, I dont actually use it at home, because it is expensive :) so I am still looking for some good budget cream.

Can’t recommend any, but was reading about serum foundations the other day. Super light but good coverage and do stuff for your skin. The Ordinary had one I remember.

Ditto . Got a sample in the Holland & Barrett advert calendar this year and love it . Just right for pale freckled complexion well past the first flushes of youth . Have ordered again today on Amazon.

Beauty pie all in wonder primer is unbelievably good, gives glowy coverage like a good CC cream and just makes your skin look so good. If you're a member it's about £8. I order in bulk in case it sells out!
Id suggest a good concealer to cover the spots when they are around rather than trying to find a lightweight base that covers them. I really like Revolution conceal and hydrate as it never sinks in to lines.

Bedtimebear40 · 07/02/2021 21:37

Thank you for all suggestions. Will have a look around.

Boots used to do a fab Time Delay one that I used lots when I had DS1, but it's no longer around. Sad

I'm not too bothered about hiding the oily skin or spots. I mentioned it because some moisturisers and foundations are far too oily and just slide off my already oily face. I'd like something to even up my skin tone and hide the dark circles of doom.

If your dark circles are bad, this stuff works wonders, if you use this under your eye before applying base you'll see a massive difference

Boots No7 Beautiful Skin one is good for a cheaper option, and they do a version for oily skin (not tried it)

Another vote for this. I loved it in the H and B advent calendar and bought the full size. Best BB cream EVER.

Ernieshere · 08/02/2021 10:17

Garnier BB Cream for £5 is lovely, I moisturise 5 mins before with childs farm.

MonkeyPuddle · 08/02/2021 10:20

I have an oily t zone and use this one. I use a yellow based concealer under my eyes to get rid of the bags.

M&S Autograph BB Tinted Moisturiser spf15

I've also got the Beauty Pie one, Nars Pure Radiant, and L'Oreal Skin Paradise. The M&S blows them all out of the water. And it's a tenner.

Sparkletastic · 08/02/2021 10:58

And I have oily skin too. Products with SPF often a disaster. But not this one.

rbe78 · 08/02/2021 11:02

I second Boots No7 Beautiful Skin, best BB cream/tinted moisturiser I have ever tried, at any price.

I use the Normal/Oily one, and it somehow manages to simultaneously be invisiible (cannot tell you're wearing make up), but perfectly evens out my skin tone and stops me looking like a zombie on the dreaded Teams meetings!

That, bit of mascara and some Boy Brow, and I'm lockdown ready!

MrsBobDylan · 08/02/2021 13:56

I've just ordered the Sea Magik recommend up thread and the face moisturiser.

I found a 10% voucher: MANIA10 if anyone is interested.

I have used Laura Mercia for the past three years, it is lovely but I wanted something cheaper and more ethically aware so got my fingers crossed I love this!

greenemerald · 08/02/2021 14:00

Also love the sea magik one after saw it being discussed on the advent thread. It's fab. Deffo my HG of BB creams

Oblomov21 · 08/02/2021 14:07

I think I have the garnier bb one. Might try some of these others.

MrsBobDylan · 09/02/2021 15:28

Oooh my Dead Sea Sea Magik face cream and BB cream came today...it is fabulous!!!!

Smells lovely, good coverage, moisturising and good value. What's not to love?

Cherrypie32 · 09/02/2021 15:34

No 7 bb and cc are great

citygirl1961 · 09/02/2021 18:55

@cherrypie, I was in Boots the other day and they had only got one kind of the No7 BB cream, the others look as if they've been discontinued, I think its just the one for normal/dry skin I saw.

Cherrypie32 · 09/02/2021 22:01

city thanks for alerting me! I checked out Boots website and can still see the green tube BB which is what I wear but did see that the youthful CC is now clearance so stocked up.
