Leather joggers

I love leather joggers and am finding my leather skinnies are looking a bit dated so want to update to a more relaxed style.

However, I have ordered both the arket and the hush joggers and both make me look like a deranged Disney Aladdin-style genie. I am an 8-10 apple shape - I have narrow hips, non existent bum, no waist (both a short waist and a wide one), muffin top (plus a 2x c section overhang I can’t get rid of) and long skinny legs, and the amount of fabric in the joggers is overwhelming plus they are too short!

Does anyone have any other recommendations of good jogger/straight leg leather trousers styles to try or do I just accept this is not for me?

Thanks!

I think Mint Velvet might have had a pair last time I was on their site, although in honesty OP I don't like the look of them. It's a clash of style and fabric I can't get my head round.

That said, my fabric Hush joggers are like genie pants. I don't wear them often because I can't figure out how to style them. What sort of top half were you picturing with the joggers?

Leather skinnies I do love - please don't say they're dated now or I'll have bugger all else to wear ShockGrin

I can already tell they won’t work, they look puffy even on the model!

Maybe you’re right and it’s just not a practical real life thing. Someone must be buying them though! Re skinnies - I know and I absolutely love all mine but I do feel they’re starting to date Shock

I would wear the joggers with shorter cropped jumpers, silk shirts half tucked in, t shirts, anything really!

I'm gonna have to stick with my skinnies because I'm on a spending freeze... Not sure very expensive leather-look joggers would be an essential purchase Grin

Keep looking OP and maybe the right ones will appear. I also love 'coated' leggings, almost-leather-look but not quite, which I do think would translate better into a jogger style.

I much prefer the more structured pleated front style leather trousers. I think Whistles might have had some...

These might be good- these?

I have some from ASOS, they are hard to wear though due to the puffiness over the stomach. I have only found a couple of tops that work with them.

I think straight leg trousers would be more flattering especially if you're worried about your tummy area. I think M&S have some.

I find straight legs even worse - at least with joggers they nip into my skinny ankles. (Having similar issues with the return to straight leg jeans, NIGHTMARE with my figure.)

Those oasis ones would just look ridic on me, cropped trousers make me look like I’ve just got too short trousers on as they never seem to fall in the right place. Gah! Will keep looking.

I looked at loads of leather joggers the other day and all were on sale. Most were being returned due to the large amounts of material needed at the front but it did suit some shapes.

I was searching for months and bought and returned so many! Eventually found my perfect one at Boohoo Blush. Apologies for linking a fast fashion brand:

I have the opposite body type to you and I’m not convinced that anyone apart from the super toned or models can carry most of these cuts/designs of easily. I don’t think I’ve actually seen leather joggers out in the wild either (caveat: I obviously don’t get to go out much at the mo). I gave up on my search and bought myself a faux leather midi skirt to satisfy that itch.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 08/02/2021 13:59

Maybe you need a tapered slim leg style - no idea where you might find such a thing though. I have some from Mango, but I'm a pear so fill out the bum and thigh area nicely Grin

huuuuunnnndderrricks · 08/02/2021 15:12

I would I accept they aren't for you . I think they suit an hourglass / pear shape as they gathering accentuates any tummy issue . How about wide leg culottes ?

Rina66 · 08/02/2021 15:17

I’ve got the ‘magic trousers’ in faux leather, I’m a size 14 and they are so so flattering and comfortable - they aren’t cuffed, but I just roll them up. They’re great because you can wear them out too, wishful thinking, just tuck them under at the hem.

Just to update everyone on this incredibly important thread Grin - I ended up buying a pair of rag & bone non jogger style leather trousers. They look SO much better as are very fitted on the hips and then loose on the leg so I don’t look the size of a house. Feel very happy - now just waiting to be allowed out to wear them!
