Help me do some ring research please

I've decided that when we're allowed out to play again, I want a trip to London and a trip to a nice jewellers to buy a ring.

I want to be called madam and for it to come in a pretty, be-ribboned box. I only like silver and could go up to around £500 if it was absolutely perfect for me. Any ideas where I might look, please?

It it could be less, in which case I'll spend the extra on afternoon tea and champagne. 😀 But the nice box is essential.

Hatton Garden would probably be a good place to go - lots of choice. Or Harvey Nichols/Harrods for a luxury department store experience.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/02/2021 17:04

Luxury department store is more like it, I think. Or luxury jewellers. Not Harrods. Thank you.

How about looking at the options in Liberty? I seem to recall they have a good range with different prices and it’s a fun store to have a browse around too. Not far away from there is Gray’s Antiques market which is great and I think had quite a range of prices. Also fun to look around.

Oh and for afternoon tea you’re then not far from either of those places to the Langham.....

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/02/2021 18:26

Thank you. I love Liberty.

Liberty has a couple of really lovely ones but not sure about 'the one'.

Hmmm wonder if there might be some new stock by the time shops reopen - worth keeping an eye out. Do you have a particular style in mind?
RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/02/2021 21:05

Not sure, really.

I like this

If you're looking for silver rings, how about Georg Jensen? www.georgjensen.com/en-gb/jewellery/silver-rings

Tartyflette · 06/02/2021 21:15

Tiffany?

And with the iconic boxes

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/02/2021 21:17

Thank you. I don't really like the GJ ones - they all look a bit like Baba Papa.

There's a couple I like at Tiffany, but they seem quite expensive compared to similar ones elsewhere. But the box there would be very much along the right lines!

How about Astley Clarke?

www.astleyclarke.com/uk/jewellery/rings

I’m not sure if they have their own stores but they are stocked in a few of the London department stores.

I have a ruby ring which is similar to the MV one you linked to, from Fenton & Co - they have a London show room (they don’t carry everything in stock though). This is the one I have fentonand.co/collections/the-eternity

DK123 · 06/02/2021 22:45

The Shaun Leane jewellery is very nice - stylish and good quality. I'd really recommend it and I think places like Liberty and Selfridges stock it

TheFlis12345 · 06/02/2021 22:53

If you want the whole ‘madam’, fancy wrap experience you’ll pay much more than you would for an identical or higher value item elsewhere.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/02/2021 22:58

That's pretty, PB.

12345 - this is fantasy planning to help me have some ideas in mind. Tiffany and H Samuel are the only two jewellers I could name! Grin

Astley Clarke have hardly anything in silver on their website.

I'd linked to a Shaun Leane one - definitely worth investigating.
