Why don't blonde hair dyes work? On the pack it shows what your hair will look like after colouring. Well why hasn't my hair changed a single bit??? My hair is a little lighter than the darkest colour shown on the before picture. Why are these even sold if they don't bloody work??? Waste of money! Was really looking forward to being a couple of shades lighter until I can get it sorted properly.

First of all how dark was your hair to begin with

Box dyes usually lighted 2-3 "levels" so if you have dark brown hair that is classed level 3 for example. Platinum blonde is level 11. If you have dark brown hair then really would need to use bleach to significantly lighten and then use the box colour as a kind of toner

My natural colour is somewhere between the darkest two colours shown in that pic so, I haven't dyed it in years so it should have worked according to that box :(

Dye won't lift your hair, it only deposits colour. You need to bleach it first. Box dyes are rubbish anyway. The colour on the box is always misleading, and the result pictures for blondes are always inaccurate. You'd be much better off buying a decent colour or toner from a website like Sally's, and using it with a developer. After you've bleached it. I wouldn't recommend bleaching your hair at home yourself atm if you've never done it before. If you mess it up there's salons open to help fix it.

Maybe you need a darker blonde shade? I have light/mid-brown hair and use a medium blonde box dye (number 8) and it works well.

I feel scammed 🤣 Why do they sell them if they don't bloody work. Or they should say on the box 'will not work on shades darker than the dye '
