Alternative mascara to Lancôme?

GemmeFatale · 05/02/2021 12:52

I have been using Lancôme mascara (not fussy about which one they seem fairly interchangeable to me) but now DH is no longer travelling for work my stockpile is gone. I’m sort of horrified by the price.

If you’ve found a fantastic, less pricey, alternative I’d love to hear about it.

Ooh following with interest as I use this and am yet to find an alternative I like.

I changed jobs a few years ago and stopped treating myself to the higher end make-up, I use maybelline mascaras now and find them just as good. Can't seem to find good foundations though, still use the higher priced ones. I adore all of the Lancome perfumes, they are heavenly.

I use Lancome and have never found a cheaper one I like as much. The amount I've spent on cheaper ones that I don't like I might as well have just bought the Lancome ones. Usually at Christmas they do a set with one large mascara and 3 smaller ones, they usually go in the sale after Christmas and I buy a couple to last me. Debenhams have got some in stock at the moment. www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_121053025399?sku=9339134&brand=Lanc%C3%B4me&cat1=Beauty&cat2=Make-up&cat3=Make-up-sets&2361363232_1587703901_57506423462__&&CMP=SSH_tm_google_Debenhams-UK(Beauty)_PX-Beauty-PLA-TM&gclid=CjwKCAiA9vOABhBfEiwATCi7GOujc7sMf-59veHfTl8L8w8U7A86nyCnIzxJ0O4QXcGnp8kdQglaqRoCOjAQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

I do the same as cad186. They seem to last me ages!

TinyCake · 05/02/2021 22:07

I do the same, but wondering if there's an alternative now Debenhams is in trouble. It's the brush that does it for me.

GemmeFatale · 06/02/2021 07:24

I’ve actually cleaned and kept hold of a couple of the wands in case they’re the magical bit so I might try them with whatever I can grab with the weekly shop. Although the multipack Debenhams one is an option too

Thanks all

I just love definicils. I’ve been using it for years (possibly 20+ years) I cannot find a mascara to match it. It goes on lovely and lasts all day. I used to buy it in duty free, but I just pay the full price with Boots or JL. Sometimes they have 20% off offers, worth a look.

GemmeFatale · 06/02/2021 07:50

I’ve just looked and Debenhams have an extra 15% off code for make up. Two of the multipacks heading my way for a little over the price of a single tube.

Thanks @cad186 I wouldn’t have thought to check if you hadn’t linked.

I have never found another mascara that doesn’t give me puffy eyes by the end of the day. I was shocked at the price of the last one I bought too - has it gone up? It does last for ages though.

eyeoresancerre · 06/02/2021 08:24

Cad186 - thank you so much! I just ordered from your link and as pp said their is an additional 15% off which in effect makes the postage free! You're brilliant - thank you.

user159 · 06/02/2021 08:28

Another one that uses maybelline most days. My sister got me a Laura Mercier one for Christmas and whilst it's lovely, it's definitely not worth the 4x price increase in my opinion.

cad186 · 06/02/2021 13:57

Glad it was of use!

Deathraystare · 09/02/2021 10:00

At the cheapie end if you have a Wilcos near you , go for Lash Princess -I think the range is Essence - Wilco's own make. They also do a waterproof Lash Princess mascara that I use. They do others but I like waterproof best.
