Best Purple Shampoo Recommendations Please!

Meggymoo777 · 05/02/2021 12:01

Naturally brunette with blonde balayage type style... going a bit brassy now. Any recommendations for really good purple shampoo? Have tried a couple, using the John Frieda at the moment but really not stripping the brassy tones as much as I would like.

Thanks in advance!

I like the Tigi one - makes my hair really soft as well. You can get big bottles of the shampoo & conditioner in B&M and hone bargains for £6.99 so it’s good value too. For a quick fix for brassiness use the Provoke mask, although I wouldn’t use the shampoo and conditioner long term as it isn’t good for your hair; I think it’s the best colour corrector I’ve used though.

Best by far is fudge one, use gloves 😀

Thank you! Might give the Provoke Mask a go, used the shampoo, was only okay really and the conditioner is dreadful 😩 I'll look at the Tigi one as well!

Oooohhh... like the sound of something that requires gloves, think I need something pretty hardcore at the moment! Thanks so much!

I also think the best is the Fudge one!

Murtaghjames · 05/02/2021 12:10

My hairdresser recommended London Beach (I think that's the name). It's available in Boots. I've tried a few purple shspoos but most of them left a residue and hair felt heavy.

prettygreenteacup · 05/02/2021 12:11

I use Bleach London Silver on my blonde. It's really nice and not too drying. Wear gloves as it's super pigmented!

Murtaghjames · 05/02/2021 12:11

Sorry just checked its Bleach London.

Meggymoo777 · 05/02/2021 12:13

Excellent... thanks so much ladies! 🥰

Please keep the recommendations coming, will settle in an do a bit of online shopping this evening!

Fudge.

I’ve tried many over the years and this is by far the best. I use it every time I was my hair: 3 times a week and the conditioner. I buy the big 1L bottles.

I get compliments on my hair colour all the time, even from my hairdresser! I think she even suspected I’d gone for a colour elsewhere.

Like others have said, wear gloves. Also, make sure you rinse your shower cubicle/bath afterwards.

cherrytreecottage · 05/02/2021 12:19

Highly recommend Osmo. Really good value but super strong so don't leave it on for very long!

Another vote for Bleach London - I find it really good

MammaMiaWallace · 05/02/2021 12:24

A really good one (and massive bargain), is from the Natural World range - no parabens, phosphates etc and leaves (my dyed blonde but naturally dark) hair really silky and it’s great at getting rid of brassiness.

I’m watching with interest for other suggestions as I’ve been using L’Oréal Professional Magnesium Silver for the past few months and it’s not as good as Natural World, but I’m open to trying others now the L’Oréal is (finally!) running out.

MammaMiaWallace · 05/02/2021 12:25

Ooh fudge looks promising!

CodewordIsRochambeau · 05/02/2021 12:26

Another vote for Fudge, it's the only one that actually makes a difference for me!

ImperfectTents · 05/02/2021 12:28

I get loads of compliments when I use fudge on my white hair, dad uses it on her blond hair and it really lifts it. Don't leave it on too long as it can go a bit blue rinse

starbrightstarlight8888 · 05/02/2021 12:32

Fanola works best for me.

LetterOfTheLawFella · 05/02/2021 12:59

Does anyone have a link to the Fudge one?

ImperfectTents · 05/02/2021 13:20

Yes

HappierTimesAhead · 05/02/2021 13:23

Fanola or Fudge but looking to try Bleach London after all the recommendations Grin

limesoda · 05/02/2021 13:36

Fanola is fab for the colour but I am finding it super drying so tempted to to try one that might actually make my hair soft.

sausagepastapot · 05/02/2021 13:49

Fudge fo sho. I have used dozens and its the best

minnie465 · 05/02/2021 13:57

Fanola
