Wardrobe must haves - 40s

Sorting my wardrobe out, have just ordered a cashmere sweater, have a couple of pairs of decent winter boots and coats. Have one pair of decent jeans. I dont like jeggings anymore. Quite like dresses as they are comfy.
What else is an essential would you say?
Any ideas would be appreciated

What sort of tops or blouses do you like?

@Toilenstripes I quite like loose fitting shirt tops, have to be long enough cover bottom. Nothing tight.
I like my jumpers the same, nothing with a high neck.

I am 40 and I know you say you don’t like jeggings, but what about some leather leggings? I live in mine.- they are so comfy. Dressed down with trainers in the day or with shoe boots/ heels for a night out? (When we can!) long line jumper for day time, silk shirt/ long top for evening?

Same here, but they can be difficult to find. I’ve read that switching from black to navy as we age is a good idea.

I've gone right off my jeggings recently, I could do with some new jeans. I got a nice pair of boyfriend jeans from Mint Velvet.

Where did you get your cashmere jumper from?

@SingingLoud its from Next. I had a cashmere sweater from there 15 odd years ago and it was nice quality. This is long and has Dolman sleeves so I'll see if I like the style when it comes...

@Daria32 I have considered them before but I'm dont think I'm trendy enough to carry them off. I'm more of a classic (boring maybe) style person.
