Aromatherapy Associates

I have been eyeing up the box with 10 x 9ml bottles, and it seems a good way to decide which I was most keen on. Aromatherapy Assocociates themselves are weirdly charging more than places like Grooming, but I don't know if anyone has any experience of buying other than AA themselves or John Lewis, that they'd like to share with me? TIA.

Space NK sell Aromatherapy Associates. I bought one of their sets that you describe from them in a sale and I loved choosing a different scent each bath. Space NK usually have a £15 off a £60 spend in February so you could look out for that. If you haven't bought from Space NK before I have a referral code on the promo board for £10 off a £40 purchase. It's for new customers (or new emails). Their codes can be stacked.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 04/02/2021 18:22

That's interesting Housewife. It's on NK at £10 more than the Grooming Salon, but can't see the £15 off. They're offering a free handcream, so maybe that is instead of the 15 off? 10 off would make it the same as the Grooming place, but the 15 off as well would be even better :)

Sorry, it's the Grooming Clinic, not Salon.

Space NK were just running a £20 with every £100 spend but that finished a couple of days ago.
There might be something later on in feb, I never remember when these things happen from one year to the next so tend to put things in my basket as and when I run out or just fancy trying until there’s a good promotion on.
As for AA, I bought some of their bath oils for myself for Christmas but decided they weren’t very relaxing for me - couldn’t risk getting my hair in the bath (even the ends) as it’s a bastard to wash oil out of hair and then trying to get out was a dangerous oil slip. Particularly because in mine and dhs bathroom the shower is over the bath and I always shower after a bath, I nearly smacked my face into the wall and gave myself a nosebleed getting up to shower off - not used the oils since, they were a waste of money for me! Can’t think how else people may use them that isn’t messy or dangerous!
I’ve had a few of their other body products which have been lovely though.

The deep relax is my favourite & you can get the 55ml for about £20 instead of £50 odd on eBay.

I have the minis & they're ok but some haven't enough smell for me.

AA did a limited edition perfume a few years ago & I loved it!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 04/02/2021 18:34

Now that's interesting... you may have destroyed my fantasy bath scenario where it's all lovely and relaxing, and a better, thinner, calmer more beautiful version of me emerges from the waters, and everywhere upstairs smells gorgeous also. Your lived experience of oil slick and injury are somewhat at odds with that. So, you might have saved me some dosh, but please don't tell me there is no Father Christmas Grin

Oh, my sister bought me the AA taster bath oils set and it has been my absolute favourite. Don't be put off! They really do smell delicious and I guarded them against all-comers and eked them out for ages. I had no issues with oil slick or whatever - you're supposed to massage them into your skin before you get into the bath, so a little goes a long way. I'd say go for it.

Housewife2010 · 04/02/2021 21:43

The £15 off a £60 spend isn't on at the moment at Space NK but for the last few years it has been on for a few days every February and October, so I am expecting it to be on soon.

Housewife2010 · 04/02/2021 21:46

I haven't found the bath oils to be too oily. You only use a tiny capful as the scent is concentrated. For baths the instructions are to pour a capful in the bath once it's been run. If you're using them in the shower you are to massage them on your upper body first.

VirtualLearning · 04/02/2021 21:50

I adore these and really miss them when don’t have them now. You rub a little bit on your hands and inhale for 30 seconds in the bath, it’s just lovely. I love the little bottles too.
I buy direct and they have a good sale in January usually

TheChosenTwo · 04/02/2021 23:02

I didn’t know you’re meant to rub them on your body 😳 I presumed they were to pour a capful into the bath Grin well no wonder it was so bloody slippery!

Housewife2010 · 04/02/2021 23:20

I always pour the capful into the bath. That's the instructions on the Space NK site. There's a free AA rose hand cream with s £50 spend on Space NK.

BeaLola · 05/02/2021 01:58

I love them - and the facial oils set - I always buy from there - they very often do discounts 15% off etc - at the moment there's an offer with free gift .

I bought the oil burner offer in first lockdown and have used it loads . I have also quite a few of the free virtual zoom events in lockdown which I have enjoyed .

OP -if you look on the website you can sign up for free virtual events like intro sessions etc

Tonight, Fri 5th I think there is a Rose Spa session ?

Re bath oils - I often buy the set when they have a 15 or 20% off code. The deep relax is my favourite. I used to pour straight in but having attended the virtual sessions they recommend applying to torso and inhaling product in hands before you get into bath . I have never had a problem with oils in bath and I am very accident prone.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 23/02/2021 12:24

Ok, so I sucumbed (sp?) and bought a taster set for £34, and I am liking them, so maybe I shouldn't have, because my trusty old Radox will now get ignored!

Deep Relax is amazing. Absolutely love it. I don't pour it straight into the bath but rather warm it in my hands and inhale it, then rub it into my arms and chest (like a really glamorous Vicks Grin)

PersonaNonGarter · 23/02/2021 20:38

Deep Relax is the dream.
