Invisalign started yesterday

Hello to all, I had my Invisalign fitted yesterday although I’m not getting any attachments for two weeks. Apparently this first one is just to get me used to it. It feels a bit frustrating that I’ll be wearing it for two weeks without any movement but I guess I have to have patience! It will be good to have some moral support here over the coming months!

Did you have to have any teeth out for it ?

It might take a bit of getting used to but stick with it! You may well have times when they get uncomfortable (as the teeth are moving). It really will be worth it. I get comments on how great my teeth look all the time.

@DinosaurDiana no I didn’t have to have teeth out thankfully as I wore a brace as a teenager and had teeth out then so my mouth isn’t overcrowded

Thanks for the positive message, it really helps. I’m just taking 15 mins break from the trays for a cup of tea and a sneaky piece of chocolate. I’m thinking 30 mins out for each meal per day and two snack breaks of 15 mins, does that sound about right?

Basically the longer you can wear them the better, is what my dentist said - so what you are suggesting sounds ok to me. You might find getting them out and then back in again is a bit tricky until you get the hang of it!

Hi, I started a thread when I started mine at the beginning of January - there's quite a lot of helpful advice on there.

Thank you @westr I’ll have a look. How are you getting on now? Hope it’s going well

You do get used to it very quickly! My main issues at first were a lisp and the aligners hurt my gums - no pain now, they are still quite irritating though I have to say. I tend to wear mine 21 hours a day and have 3 hours off. Good luck!
