I hate buying bras!

Really struggling to find something that fits me properly. I used to love buying underwear but bloody hate it now!

I measure as 30 C, which fits ok sometimes but not always. I'm a size 8-10 in clothes. Just clearly quite small rib cage and probably more pear shaped if anything.

Boobs are still ok, not sagging, but have lost a bit of the top volume since having babies and breastfeeding. So balconette styles tend to be my best bet.

But sometimes I find with a 30 band that even with a C cup the wires don't feel 'wide' enough and end up digging in to my boobs. I've tried a 32 B (all bras usually M&S) and I still have the issue with wire but a 32 C would be too big in the cup.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Around M&S prices would be good too.

Have you tried the boob or bust site with your measurements? Could be a style issue rather than a size one though

StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind · 02/02/2021 23:40

Hmmm boob or bust is suggesting a 28 E but I think I'd find a 28 band really painful! 30 feels quite tight!

30 will feel tight as your cup is too small
Sister size of 28E would be 30DD

dementedpixie · 02/02/2021 23:44

Do your current bras sit with the central bit against your rib cage between your breasts? If not then the cup is too small

I think the best way is to go into a shop ( when we are allowed to shop for non essentials , although a comfy bra is essential imo) and try on loads. I have been measured as a 30G but not all 30G’s fit comfortably.

dementedpixie · 02/02/2021 23:46

Or order sizes online and try them at home
Brastop is quite good too

StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind · 02/02/2021 23:47

Some do but some don't- mind you the ones I currently have are crappy M&S ones and the quality has gone downhill massively. So even the same style fit differently.

Maybe I need to check the measurements again- 28 was what I got when pulling the tape really tight like it said to do on boob or bust.

Watching with interest, I'm about 28C, I'm small but not tiny, seems no one sells bras in my size but I can't be the only one! Pre children I was D cup and could shop in Bravissimo, but haven't found nice bras for years.

I have mostly given up on them in lockdown, but at some point I'll have to see people outside my immediate family!

I have found a bra vest thing in uniqlo that works, but is quite nylony and doesn't feel nice. I've also got a Calvin Klein cotton crop top that is comfy and seems to keep them in place. In the summer though I'm going to want a nice bra that fits.

StrawberryLipstickStateOfMind · 02/02/2021 23:51

@wonderstuff it's rubbish isn't it, I really struggle to find nice bras that fit. I'd happily wear bralettes as they'd be fine for support but they look rubbish under some types of clothing.

www.bouxavenue.com/search?q=28c&lang=default seems to do 28C

wonderstuff · 03/02/2021 00:14

Thank you @dementedpixie just ordered a couple, fingers crossed they fit.

Girlintheframe · 03/02/2021 06:57

I'm a 30DD and find that bras much like clothes vary brand to brand.

Like you I've tried loads with mixed results. Even the same bra but in a different colour can fit differently

Fig leaves has been the best fit for me followed by Pour Moi and occasionally some own brands like next and M&S.

I really recommend Bravissimo. They have a sale on at the moment. Dd is a 30 E (at 13!) And there online support was really helpful with fit and sizing etc.
Also have a sale on at the mo
