Need a moan..

I am getting so irritated with online retailers and their vanity sizing. This is why I never go to different shops. Anyone else find this?

New Look was the culprit today. Normal size was huge. Like not even close to being my size. Haven’t ordered from them for a couple of years and won’t be doing so again...

rant over

It is annoying. I always order 2 sizes, and occasionally 3 if it's something where the fit is more important. But then you have to deal with the return...

Maybe it was meant to be oversized.

BurningRed · 02/02/2021 18:40

@KirstenBlest wrap dress...

Too big at the waist, huge on the bust.

I also ordered tailored trousers, and a slim fit knit. All the same issues.

Never again. So frustrating.

That's poor, and this is why we need shops where we can try the clothes on for fit.

I don't really order clothes online, but the not knowing what the sizing is like puts me off.

I have bought shoes on ebay, way too many, and I've even managed to receive two pairs that weren't the size listed. Not the same seller.

Even almost identical styles from the same brand seemed to vary in size. I was after something very specific and I think that altogether I bought about 7 pairs and ended up reselling or returning about 5 pairs. I'm not joking - my usual size enormous on me and half a size down and I couldn't get my feet in them. Ended up getting the unisex version in half a size down. They fit perfectly. The 2 pairs I have ended up are perfect, look new, and I got them at a tiny fraction of the new price, but what a palaver.

In one 'iconic' brand I fit the size down in their unisex boots, but in women's boots my usual size is too big even with insoles and thick socks, but the next size down is too small. I have now given up on them.

I've just bought two pairs of joggers, one was oversized so I went a size down, should have done two as they gel like they're going to fall down. Another pair was in my usual size but I could have done a size down too.Both from Dorothy Perkins.
