Find me the perfect handbag!

I’m looking for the perfect handbag and damn it’s hard going. I am not usually a bag person and now I realise why Blush

Since forever I’ve been using my Longchamp Le Pliage but it’s falling to bits. I could just replace it but I’ve been reading other threads about waiting to buy the perfect thing instead of the “that’ll do” thing, so I want to hold out for the perfect bag. Can anyone help me find my moon-on-a-bloody-stick unicorn handbag?

Here is what I am looking for:

Must-have:
Leather - soft grained and quite plain, not too stiff or floppy
Fold-over / satchel style (but less structured / boxy and softer leather than a satchel)
Cross body with a second short strap on top
At least 30cm long and 25cm high (should fit a 14” laptop)
No logos / tassels / fancy trims
At least 2 internal pockets for phone, keys, etc

Like-to-have:
Oxblood / burgundy / dark brown ( but I could be persuaded by another colour for the right style)
Long cross-body strap in webbing rather than leather
Antique gold trims (including the little knobbles on the base so it doesn’t get all grimy - what are they even called?!)
Some lining
Under £150

So, anyone know where I can find this holy grail of bags? Or should I just forget it and get another Longchamp? Confused

Thanks @waltzingparrot I hadn’t heard of Apatchy before so just had a browse.
I think the problem is that I want something a bit like this but big enough for my laptop. Does it even exist?

Feet?

Worth a look ?

Forgot to say , no feet but as she makes them she might be able to adapt one .

I’ve never put a bag on the floor and take care where they are placed, so no grime :)

Ooh, some nice options... thanks!

I had a browse on the Little Leather Handbag Co site - I really like their medium saddle bags but they are too small Sad

The perfect bag is out there, I just know it!

This is what I want, but a teeny bit bigger. Any ideas?

@ShangPie
Since I tripped over a hanging bag strap like in your pic, I tuck the long strap into the bag. I still get the heebie jeebies seeing straps near feet.

Try coach, good sale on just now. I just bought the sutton hobo and love it, you could turn bag around to hide hardware

ShangPie · 07/02/2021 01:09

Thanks banana
I really like Coach’s vintage stuff so will definitely take a look.
Agree with you on the hanging strap as a hazard sue I am occasionally very clumsy and this kind of thing is an accident waiting to happen

this fits your criteria except the second handle
