Nanolash and dry eye syndrome

Have any of you lovely people ever had a problem with eyelash serums?

It’s just that about 3 years ago, I gave Nanolash a try. I was thrilled with the results - my lashes grew longer and darker, giving my eyes so much more definition. But after a year or so of using it, I developed sore, red eyes and they looked ‘glassy’ some of the time.

I saw an optician and he diagnosed ‘dry eye syndrome’, a fairly common condition for those of advanced years Blush. It was something to do with blocked ducts in the eyelid.

I asked if it was caused by the Nanolash but he said he didn’t think so. And yet, because you apply it along the eyelid near the lashes, I thought it was likely to be the culprit.

I stopped using it anyway and, along with the wipes and spray he gave me, it made a difference. My eyes got more or less back to normal in a few months.

I’ve got a tube of it here that I bought before the problem started and I’m dying to try it again but, if anyone else says they’ve had a similar experience, I’ll change my mind.

Yes, I've tried RapidLash and Latisse and both have the same effect, great for lashes but irritating for eyes, and my mum has had the same experience. Both products make my eyes dry and irritated and the skin around my eyes looks purplish, as if bruised.
Have you tried cutting down to once or twice a week? After my lashes grow I find I have to use the serum less often to keep them looking good.

Thanks, quick, it’s as I thought then. Though the problem only started after a year or more of using the stuff.

I think I’ll give it another go - but I’ll take your advice and use it less often once the lashes grow a bit. If my eyes start playing up, that’s it - never again!
