Going grey

I’m starting to grey, mid 30’s and naturally very dark, almost black hair. Not sure whether to get it coloured when hairdressers reopen or allow it to grey naturally. I last had my hair coloured 18 months ago with an all over colour to cover up/blend in earlier highlights so the bottom half of my hair is now significantly different to the top half. The grey isn’t that striking, lovely silver I see but more dull. Help!!

Be warned that if you start to colour your hair you will be committed to that for years, peering at your roots every 4 weeks. I'm growing out my dye now aged nearly 50 and it is a colossal pita. I wish I'd just left it now.

My Mum grew her grey out in the first lockdown and she looks great. I have friends who are 90% grey before 40 and they’ve grown it out but it feels like a big decision. Like you say a big commitment to dying every 4 weeks to cover up roots which is a big expense.
