Usually get them done every 5 weeks bleach then toner, ash blonde colour, natural hair colour, well I don’t really know for sure medium brown. Last lockdown used Nice n Easy Ash Blonde and had a ginger stripe! After 10 weeks got desperate and bought some Schwartzkopt Extra Lightening stuff today which promised up to 9 shades of lift which it’s done and then some. It’s bright yellow like before the toner goes on at the hairdressers.

Can I buy maybe a darker blonde Nice and Easy to tone it down or will this wreck my hair now or do I just look like a highlighter? Have Fanola in the house too

Try the fanola first

I used it but only for a minute as I was washing the due off as I was scared it would turn purple lol. Didn’t leave it on the 5 minutes.

Charles Worthington colourplex purple shampoo is a fantastic diy tonerand you can buy it from boots. It’s actually a more effective toner than most toners! Let me know how you get on!

I think I might need more than toner bits of it look actually white now Shock it’s so light think I need to darken it down a bit. Should take a photo and let you all have a good laugh but I’m scared

We need a photo to give a proper opinion.

I think you'd get the best results by using a toner. I tone my hair using Redken shades eq gloss toners every 4 weeks or so
You can look up a YouTuber called ellesbangs for specific instructions on how you can tone at home. Sounds like you have lifted to a level 10, so you could tone to a 9 if you wanted it slightly darker. Using a permanent hair colour isn't necessary imo, as you don't need to lift any more, unless you have grey hair that needs covering

I have been saved. Went to Boots today and got 2 boxes of Nice n Easy Medium Ash Blonde, put it on all over my hair just for 20 minutes. It’s toned it right down, my hair is all the one colour and I actually really like the colour it’s turned out. If I had had it done at the hairdressers I would be happy with it. Grin
I don’t think I could have gotten the roots to lift that much with just Nice n Easy though but it’s turned out well and it’ll keep me going for hopefully 6 weeks when the hairdressers will be open again fingers crossed.

I love Nice and Easy, I've been using it for over 15 years and it's never let me down. Sometimes I'll try other box brands but always end up just coming back with my tail between my legs!
Glad you got it sorted OP.

You are inspiring me to try my own box dyes! I always get highlights but it takes so long and it’s so expensive! I’m scared!
