Do you feel comfortable naked?

Random question!
I’ve never felt comfortable naked, and currently trying to lose weight so that i can finally be happy and comfortable with my body! I’m not massive, currently 10 st 5 at 5 ft 7 and a size 10, but my belly has like a line sort of thing under it? And the skin almost looks a bit loose even though I’m only 29 and no kids!

Just wondered if others feel similar or just think sod it anyway?

OP posts:
Onedropbeat · 30/01/2021 14:54

I felt comfortable when I left an ex who told me I was fat and met a man who adored my body

I was a size 10/12 and toned from lots of bill walking

I’ve had 2 babies since and not as confident as I’ve got a c section tummy and am about a stone heavier than I’d like

I’d love to be one of those women who are proud no matter what their body is like post birth because it’s don’t an amazing job but I think I’m more vain than I thought and possibly haven’t forgotten those nasty words exh used to say to me

So I’m working on it. Just getting exercise and being as healthy as I can be makes me a little bit more comfortable in my skin but il never accept my c section pouch as it just hangs down and I feel like a melted marshmallow

Gice · 30/01/2021 14:59

Weirdly I am comfortable in front of Dp/kids if I’m just out of the shower or getting dressed etc but not at all comfortable in a swimsuit outside even if it’s still only in front of them!

Onedropbeat · 30/01/2021 15:00

Things I do love about me is my legs and bum.
It’s a shame that to lose weight elsewhere I’d possibly lose some of them too

I miss my pregnant body. I loved the feeling of being all glowy with loads of swooshy hair and a cute bump

ThatIsNotMyUsername · 30/01/2021 15:00

Nope absolutely not. I feel the cold a lot too so that doesn’t help...

hilariousnamehere · 30/01/2021 15:04

Some of these make me sad :( I'm happy naked, and also burlesqueing (not pro but do festivals and stuff with my troupe in non covid times). Getting my squidgy bits out feels like liberation.
I'm 5'4 and 15 stone, size 18-20ish post lockdown, usually more 16-18 and a stone or two lighter. Stretch marks aplenty on my belly and thighs, and still love my body naked or clothed - it does everything I ask it to.

wibblewombat · 30/01/2021 15:09

Yep, I'm happy naked too. Quite fat, lots of curves, good tone under the flab. Would get distressed if saw someone whispering say down a spa or something but round the house, no problem. Weirdly, people who comment on my fat tend not to be confident, even if slim themselves.

wibblewombat · 30/01/2021 15:11

And it is sad, be proud. I always thought I wasn't pretty but looking back, I should have valued myself more.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 30/01/2021 15:12

I’m feeling pretty beefy at the moment - 5ft 6 and ten and a half stone. My “fighting weight” is about 10/3. I’m not uncomfortable being naked, and DP doesn’t notice the difference, but I do feel better with a few pounds less.

Per the OP, I wear a size 10 - most of my jeans are sized by waist (Levi’s, Whistles mainly) and they are all either 27 or 28. The weight is on my face and my upper arms which are like hams.

Affor · 30/01/2021 15:12

Yep completely. Even when I was big. I've lost a lot of weight so my body is weird now - overhang, saggy boobs etc but it's just a body. To me it doesn't matter and if anyone who sees me naked has an issue, then I don't want to spend time with them anyway. It's not the most important thing about me.

Dundundunnn · 30/01/2021 15:15

There's loads that I would change about my body if I was aiming for "perfect" but hey ho, there's no such thing!
I have stretch marks and loose skin from 2 c sections, cellulite and flab pretty much everywhere. But actually yes, I am comfortable naked. I don't know why I am, but thankfully I am!
You sound beautiful OP, tell yourself you are! Flowers

HeadNorth · 30/01/2021 15:18

Yes I'm fine with - but I am blessed with a long happy marriage and I think that helps as I'm never self conscious with my DH - he's seen every bit of me in every conceivable situation! I do stay slim and exercise and that definitely helps. I am post menopause so don't expect to look like a taut young thing, so airbrushed images don't impact on my self esteem. I feel my body is strong and healthy and I am grateful for that.

Kottbullar · 30/01/2021 15:18

No never, even as a child I hated getting changed on the beach.
The only time I've ever felt happy to be naked was when I was giving birth.

SquirrelFan · 30/01/2021 15:24

Nope, I'm with @EyeDrops on this one - never have the opportunity to find out because I hate the feeling of air on my skin - way too chilly! If ever it's really super hot, then I'm sweaty and need to have clothing on to prevent bits sticking together.

londongirl12 · 30/01/2021 15:34

I'm never naked as I hate my boobs. They never developed properly, so I live in a padded bra

ginandwineandbaileys · 30/01/2021 15:40

I'm comfortable in my own body, quite proud of it because I've worked hard to build muscle. But, I feel cold and weirdly exposed.

thirstyformore · 30/01/2021 15:55

I've always been comfortable in my own skin and being naked. I've been everything from a large 16 to size 10 (I'm 5" 6). At the moment I'm around a 12.

namechangefail2020 · 30/01/2021 18:36

God no. I'm minging naked and I'm not even that fat. Just about within healthy BMI (losing baby weight) but I wouldn't wish seeing that on anyone. Lights off all the way. I've got a nice personality tho haha

KatharinaRosalie · 30/01/2021 18:42

Yes - not because I'm perfect, I'm old enough so one day I realised I simply don't care what other people think of my body. Very liberating.

Well, I am still more comfortable if I'm in good shape, toned and not overweight - but that has more to do with being healthy.

parrotonmyshoulder · 30/01/2021 18:57

I’m comfortable in my own house, in front of DH and whichever of the children are wandering uninvited into the room. Not perfect, and wouldn’t be naked on a beach.

Gwenhwyfar · 30/01/2021 19:06

No, but then I'm single so I don't need to be.

LauraPalmerViolet · 30/01/2021 19:19

Totally comfortable. At home, gym/spa changing rooms etc. Also in swimwear at with pool or beach. I’m a size 16, very curvy and plump, and bigger after two kids but just not bothered, it’s just a body! I run and I cycle so I’m fit, but I’ve always been big boned and heavy, so perhaps that’s part of accepting it and not hating it.

Oldraver · 30/01/2021 19:28

On the whole yes, though Im not sure I could be naked in front of strangers anymore.

I'm happy with my body and know my OH loves it which is a bonus though I am aware how my saggy tits and bulgy belly would be perceived in general

Run1000km2021 · 30/01/2021 19:48

Yes, I love my naked body! I’ve been a couple of different sizes (8-12) but I’ve always felt comfortable naked. More so now I’m smaller (8) and work out a lot, but I even loved my massive naked postnatal body! I mean, it’s mostly healthy and gave me three children, what more can I ask from it?

Some replies on this thread make me sad though it’s nice to see other embracing their nudity😂

One thing I’ve noticed with regards to sex and attraction is that it is very sexy with someone who feels completely comfortable with their own body. Confidence matters much more than actual looks in terms of attraction I think!

Toorapid · 30/01/2021 19:51

I wouldn't want to walk down the street naked, but privately in front if people it's appropriate for, I'm not uncomfortable. I'm happy to play games on the beach in a bikini.

I'm 50 now though, when I actually had a body to show off, I was less keen.

wonderwhatshappening1978 · 30/01/2021 19:55

Not really.

I'm a fat little pudding Grin
