Hello!

I start a new job next week and I need to go to the office.

It’s been ten long months of inactivity- I’m overweight

It’s been ten long months of not giving a stuff about my appearance. My hair needs a cut, my eyebrows need shaping, my nails are a disgrace.

What can I do to pretend I look remotely groomed and not turn up in Lycra!!!

Can you tell me if any click and collect that I can get tomorrow?

Or deliveries?

Most places you can pay extra for a next-day delivery. Get a few things you like in different sizes, and return what doesn't fit.

Most offices have seriously relaxed their dress code, mine certainly has.

And don't panic. Have a long bath, do a body/face scrub, shave. Pluck your eyebrows a bit, file down nails and maybe put a coat of clear/strengthening varnish. Hair in a neat bun/ponytail. You'll be fine!

Also, try to get a good night's sleep beforehand. Might be hard if you are nervous but pop on a facemask in the evening, go to bed early, relax. Get our outfit ready the night before. I've gained weight during lockdown and loose palazzo/culotte style trousers with a slightly fitted top have been a saviour

ASOS is always my go to for next day delivery and a good range of brands. Tie up your hair, maybe use a nice clip or something to distract from dodgy roots. Pop a bit of makeup on (lipstick always brightens up my face) and wear something smart but comfy that hides the bits you don't love. Maybe a loose shirt with black skinny jeans/cigarette trousers?
