Summer trousers

Every year I have a hunt for summer trousers which aren't jeans and can never find what I want. I'm a size 14 and like my legs covered but need a nice light fabric. Chinos seem to look awful on me. Any kind of jogger or harem and I look like I'm in my pyjamas. Jeans too heavy and hot. Drawstring trousers and paper bag trousers add too much to my large middle. Any ideas??

What about nice wide leg long linen trousers in white / beige?

Assuming you're after casual trousers, I think khakis/chinos probably the the answer but sounds like you haven't found the right style for you yet? I think they're as hard to get right as jeans sometimes. "Chinos" really covers any casual cotton summer trouser that isn't elasticated at the waist in my book.

I'm the same size as you but pear shaped; my personal trouser nirvana is found in Cos and Toast sale, plus the John Lewis Kin balloon shape which they bring back every season and are some of my favourites - I have them in 4 colours now! Go down at least one size, Kin stuff is always huge. The leg length varies a bit too so depends how cropped you like them.

Figuring out which shops do trousers that fit/suit you is such a stress-saver, even if it takes a lot of trial and error.

I wear "Meghan Everyday Cigarette trousers" available from several online shops. Very comfortable. Can be dressed up or down. I have five pairs in different colours. Can't wait until it's warm enough to get them out again.

If It's really hot, I might wear linen trousers.

George at Asda and Tu do lovely summer trousers

Also so struggle with Sumer trousers op.

I have had success with culottes and wide leg cropped chinos from oasis.

Have you tried the h and m pull in trousers?

I picked up a pair of denim knit joggers when at the supermarket today and had vision of what they would look like- tried them on and yes they looked like pyjamas!

Love the kin ones up thread and also realised that I need to buy them now rather than May by when they have sold out!

I like those simplybe ones, I would never have thought to look there. Do you have to sign up to a credit account though? It's not letting me check out with PayPal...they've only got the black in my size but it's the kind of thing I'm after...

M&S have cotton and linen trousers. Loads. H&M pull on trousers are great and you can get surprisingly nice ones from Primark for very little money when they open again.

Did you have any joy?

Annoyingly you do need an account but you can pay upfront.

Likewise JD Williams and I think Yours who might have other colours.
