I would be happy to answer general questions on this topic in this forum and to give my perspective as a French woman living in France. The essence of authentic French Chic Style as practiced by we French Women in France (as opposed to the 'French Chic Style' that non French stylists try to persuade you is French Style) is that it is based on a process not a "look".

We know our bodyshape, we know the style objectives for that shape, we know what colours suit us and how to use them wisely.

When you know the process, your own natural style will evolve organically - THAT is the essence and ultimate expression of authentic French Chic much more than wearing a "uniform" that someone who is not French assumes is French because they have seen a few people in France wearing it.

And above all - simplicity. I can't stress simplicity enough.

So, for those heading into Francophile territory - learn about your shape, learn your style objectives, know what to use and what to avoid and keep it simple. Then whatever you wear will be you and that ma chère is what we French Women are after more than anything else.
