I find having a manicure the most boring way to spend 30 min or so that there is. I also don't want coloured nails, just neat tidy hands, maybe clear polish.
In theory, I know what to do, I've seen the experts do it, I've watched tutorials etc but I always end up with raged cuticle and hang nails.
Plus, everything you read about caring for your hands says never cut the cuticles, but the manicurist always do and so do the tutorials.
It doesn't matter either way though, they end up all ragged whether I trim them or just push them back (after softening)
What am I doing wrong?
What I'd really love is a man's manicure 
but that doesn't seem to be on offer at any of the salons here, plus it still seems like something I should be able to do myself.
