Philips lumea essential..faulty ??

I bought this locally a while ago at a garage sale event..it's boxed and was told it works..I have looked online but can't work this out...when I press it against skin, the green ready light constantly flashes...I can see a red light showing but nothing else happens when I press the button...what is this flash that is mentioned in manual etc..I think it flashed once !!..is it faulty ?? Any ideas... thanks

It should flash every time you press the button, as long as it is pushed against the skin fully

Did you know that these only have a finite number of flashes - e.g some only work for 200,000 flashes. It sounds a lot, but you can use several hundred in one session.
Maybe your machine has already reached its' limit?

I do push it fully against my skin....i am pressing the large button and i think it flashed only the once in about 20 mins of trying it out...so i guess its ended its life....!!...it wasnt expensive so will give it another go later and then pop it in recycling box if no good !
