Tinting eyelashes at home

I'm a convert to doing my own eyebrows at home, it's so quick and easy to get a very natural shade.... but what about lashes?

I really don't wear much makeup, just a bit of concealer and mascara but I do look much better with mascara! If I tinted my lashes maybe I could get away with no make up at all? This suits my lazy side...

Is it just as easy? Or something best left to a professional?

I have done my own eyelashes for years. It's pretty straightforward; just keep the eye you're working on right shut as that tint doesn't half sting! I got some under eye shield patches and pop them on with vaseline to help stop staining.

Do you have a recommendation for eyelash and eyebrow tint kits?
I’d love to give it ago as who knows then my salon will open again.

Oooo watching this - would love to be able to do my own...usually have them done every 4 weeks as I don’t tend to wear make up (& hate the feeling of mascara) but look like a ghost without!!

I use reflectocil for both brows and lashes. I'm quite slap dash when doing my lashes but probably get away with it being dark haired. I use a mix of brown and black for my brows and black on its own for lashes. Just take you're time and do one eye at a time. Practice makes perfect

I use Dylure lash tint ( black) and brow tint every few weeks. I find lashes a bit more fiddly than brows, but not difficult and I can now do both at the same time. I have skipped the vaseline under/above the eye before and dyed my skin which took a while to fade so I’m more careful these days. Mine are naturally quite fair and I don’t get the same depth of colour at the root that I get in a salon, but it’s not bad. I have seen other professional makes recommended on here that I suspect may give a deeper tint and last longer.

I use black Eyelure - it's officially for brows but fine for lashes. Also use Revitalash to make them thicker and longer, so no need for mascara (I don't like the feel of make-up.)

I've been doing mine for years.

I do mine, I use coloursport or Julienne (from Amazon). I just brush it on with a mascara wand, it goes on very clumpy but that’s fine. Try not to blink too much for 5 mins then wipe off with a baby wipe.

Brilliant- thanks everyone, I'm feeling reassured by all your replies!
