Every lip colour too dark or goes orangey

Does anyone know why those lovely nude pale & mid pinks go orangey on me? I'm blonde, blue eyes. I tried darker heather & shocking pinks but as I'm so, so pale they looked ridiculously dark. Or , what's the best tinted balm for barely there pale pink?

I always patt the lipstick on rather than dragging it across the lip as i think that it gives a more natural finish. the dr paw paw red balm is really nice and very hydrating too. maybe when the shops open again go and get colour matched, i know that no7 in boots do this

I totally understand this. CT pillow talk looks stunning (and pink) on everyone but a kind of brown/orange mess on me.
The coolest toned nude I own is Mac, Really Me. Also like Faux a lot. Neither are bright or bold.
Otherwise, those colour changing lip balms can be quite good for a wash of colour.

I have the same issue and I tend blend colours together or even add a bit of foundation or BB cream to tone down as well.

After hours on lippy reviews on You Tube, Maybelline Babylips lip balm in Bubblegum Pop has given me a sheer pink. Woohoo! Shame about the kids cartoon design on the tube tho, the chubby lip pencil , less cartoons also has Bubblegum Pop so I may buy that too.
