Age spots/discolouration - anything work?

I didn’t realise quite how many dark spots I had around the edge of my forehead, side of cheeks until recently. They can be covered with make up but I imagine they’ll only get worse. Is there anything you’ve tried that actually works to get rid of them?

Laser

I have been using CeraVe eye cream which is quite cheap. It has got rid of a brown spot near my eye? Not sure if they have any other similar products?

I’ve been using Dermatica (online subscription). I had really bad pigmentation and it’s virtually gone. They give you prescription creams. Mine was tretinoin and hydroquinone (?). After about 3 months there was a definite improvement and after about six months there’s hardly anything left. There are other online prescription ones too, I think skin & me is one, they’re all pretty similar from what I can gather. But they’ll give you stronger ingredients than something you can buy in boots for example.

Thank you. Not keen on treatments like laser although I don’t know why! I tried skin and mr for a while but I don’t think I have it enough of a try. I’ll look at Dermatica. Thanks 😊

Are they from sun or melasma? I have the latter. It’s the same as you described. I kept it under control with tretinoin and vitamin c on alternating nights. Expensive protocol which I have slacked off on during pandemic. I haven’t had too much re-darkening, but I was on them for many years. My hormonal balance may have shifted, too, as I am nearing menopause.

@PuertoVallarta I didn’t really know what they were but having googled, it’s just like melasma in this picture. I think it got worse in pregnancy. I’ll do some more reading about it!
