Product build up in hair

My hair seems to have suddenly become very dull and lifeless which I think must be due to a build up of parabens and sulfates (and not at all due to my advanced age and crappy diet :)).

Please does anyone have any recommendations for good shampoos and conditioners? Thank you.

Neutrogena shampoo, the clear one, removes all buildup from my very fine thin hair. I use it about once every couple of weeks and it can get drying if used too much on my hair.

Ah thank you @LoveFall.

Vosene, I’ve had an unfortunate outbreak of dandruff and this has the added unexpected benefit of really cleansing my hair properly.

Paul Mitchell shampoo two . Which is a clarifying shampoo.
Or shampoo one which is a gentle cleansing shampoo.

Thank you for further suggestions :)

I used fairy liquid in a bind yesterday. I know, I know, but going out to get a clarifying shampoo would have been a non essential journey. But gosh it feels wonderful today. Must have cut through all the crap that was weighing it down.

I should've read your post first @FrownsAndDimples! Not yet 8am and I've already spent over £20 on hair products!

@FrownsAndDimples me too Grin DH was questioning where the bottle had disappeared to this morning!

Baby shampoo is good if you have any around!

Seconding washing up liquid to strip product build up, I use it roughly once a month and follow with a deep conditioner.

I use also use Paul Mitchell clarifying shampoo. No way I would use washing up liquid.

Someone on here recommended Vosene, and it really worked for me. I use it every 3-4 washes now and it leaves my hair really soft and clean feeling.

That was me, vosene is not very fashionable but I’m now going 3 days in between washes, no itching or flaking scalp, with soft hair and no product build up. I just use conditioner on the ends.

@Minky37

Well, thank you very much for the tip! 😄
Works really well and cheap, too!
