Wish.com fake perfume?

I'm so annoyed with myself.
I haven't bought myself anything during lockdown and wanted to treat myself.
I've just bought Calvin Klein Eternity 2016 from Wish.
It's been discontinued so was pleased to see they had it in stock.
I've since done some research and they are known for fakes. I know I know I should have done research first!
Is there the slightest chance this is genuine? It wasn't stupidly cheap.
Or have I been had?

Any perfumistas?

I wouldn't expect anything from wish to be genuine

Wish is a Chinese knock off site. None of it is a genuine brand. Most things on there come from Ali Express.

If it's arrived and you're happy, good for you, but I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole, christ knows what the ingredients are.

Dammit.
I'm not buying anything online again ever.
If I can't test it or try it on in a shop I'm not parting with my money.

Places like that give genuine places a bad name.

I bought it with birthday money. as well Blush

I foolishly bought a jumper from AliExpress that my teenager sent me a link to and it was quite the experience! I've never concentrated so hard on trying to return something - such was my determination.

Both of them are just platforms so it's more about the seller you have bought from than Wish itself.

PrincessOfAllOurTarts · 27/01/2021 09:15

There is a shop called Perfume Parlour I've seen recommended on MN.

I did get my money back from Ali Express. It was just incredibly difficult. Like the Labours of Hercules.

It's not like I was trying to buy a creed for £20. You expect that to be fake.
What I bought wasn't heavily discounted so at the time I thought maybe someone had some old stock. And it could be genuine.
Ah well we'll see.

Definitely fake! Wish is alright for cheap tat but absolutely not for anything else.

I made this mistake years ago (not on Wish but another site). Spent £85 of my birthday money on 'Coco Chanel Mademoiselle' (was £110 in the shops). It did arrive but was clearly fake! Different colour and scent. I'm still raging with myself now - NEVER AGAIN!!

I do not think that Wish sells anything genuine, but there are plenty of genuine discount websites that often stock discontinued lines. My go to is allbeauty. Fragrancedirect, perfume-Click and Notino are good too.

likeamillpond · 27/01/2021 09:40

I think I'll have to write it off.
I'm already looking at cheaper cosmetic alternatives this month to try and recoup the cost.
I could kick myself.
I blame this fecking covid and not being able to physically test perfumes and try things on in shops.

I agree allbeauty is good. I've bought from them in the past.

Rule of thumb - If it's too good to be true, it's not true.

I would still try to return it. Did you pay by PayPal or could you go through your bank? I have found that by quoting the law when complaining I have managed to get my own way. I had to quote the law several times with Lookfantastic and shame them on social media before I got any sense out of them.
