Can anyone recommend a decent waterproof coat brands for a two year old?

Looking for something that is actually waterproof (ideally 5000-10000mm) to keep him dry on our daily walks.

Trespass - unbeatable!

Libmama · 26/01/2021 20:46

My 2 year old has one from JoJo Maman Bebe. It’s waterproof and really warm! And covered in dinosaurs which is always a win.

Didriksons are fully waterproof and fleece lined. We're in the west of Scotland so they've been well road tested this year! Legotech also very good for toddlers but more like a snowsuit

Changechangychange · 26/01/2021 20:53

DS has this, and had this the year before.

I appreciate this is no help to you now, but you get a lot more choice if you buy in September/October - it is end of season now, and a lot of styles will be sold out.

Polarn O Pyret

shouldistop · 27/01/2021 21:37

Regatta and trespass are both good

EspressoExpresso · 27/01/2021 21:38

Didriksons or polar o pyret. Buy new and sell on when outgrown or buy second hand. There are brand specific buy/sell sites on Facebook for this

Lindex really excellent and v durable

Another recommendation for JoJo Maman Bebe or Frugi do a Puddlebuster coat with some lovely designs on too.
Also take a look at Lands End, their kids coats are very good too.

NaughtipussMaximus · 27/01/2021 21:45

Frugi do lovely waterproof coats for toddlers - bright colours, fun patterns, and make from recycled plastic milk bottles so eco friendly too.

Pigtailsandall · 28/01/2021 07:44

Another vote for Polarn o pyret. They are expensive but for a reason. And they have excellent resell value.

Frugi is all pretty patterns but no substance, imo. We had a "waterproof" coat which was a gift - ok in a shower but not in proper rain.

Thanks everyone :)
I'll have a look at those. He's got a Trespass one that's waterproof to 2000mm but that doesnt seem to be enough.

@EspressoExpresso facebook groups is a good shout - do you know what the name of the Didriksons one is? I cant seem to find that one.

Try Lidl if you have one near. DS has one and it’s great saw some reduced in there recently too.

Muddy Puddles! www.muddypuddles.com/ Absolutely brilliant, properly waterproof, and they currently have a sale on.
