50th birthday dress ideas

Looking for a knockout dress for my 5oth cocktail party( we aren't in the UK but can get something posted.
I am a leggy 5'11 and a size 12.

I look Amish in anything puffy, tiered or midi/maxi.
I hate florals or big patterns and have to cover my arms because of scarring.

Looking for a 3/4 or full sleeve mini or above knee.
Something stunning.
Please fill me with your stylish widsom

If you're leggy (and have a good bum) then go for a trouser suit and heels and a sparkly or silky low v top. I have no links but that T's my shape and that's what I'd wear!

Try a bombshell dress? I have the Confident in navy tartan as well as a wrap dress. You'd look amazing with your height.

If I had your 5ft 11 legginess I'd be blowing the budget and buying this.

Lots of similar high street versions about which while solves the budget issue for me, still leaves me in need of the legs

I love love love that but the puffy shoulders would have to go- I am too broad.

I can also have sometying copied as there is a myriad of amazing fabrics here and excellent and very inexpensive tailors .
I love all the sequined things but in the past have found wearing sequined fabric either very hot , heavy or uncomfortable at the seams.

What sort of colour do you have in mind? Brights? Pastels? Strong colours? Black?

I think this is stunning, but the shoulders might be too much again.

Liberty currently has that Vampire's Wife dress in black in a size 12 in their clearance section. £395 I think.

Ok... well I’ve always gone for short dresses / skirts and still do but surely you can’t even walk in that without showing the world your arse?

I don't know what your taste is, but Phase Eight dresses are usually very well cut and sexily flattering. The dress above is above the knee and I imagine would look great on someone leggy. Long sleeves plus sparkle. Happy 50th!!
