I am putting some thought into my wardrobe and I've realised that I don't do the external stuff well. The coats, bag and shoes, especially coats.
I am in the process of upgrading my tatty joggers and bobbly jumpers into something a bit more chic - think a kind of hush/baujen look rather than the current £6 from amazon.
I have a couple of coats - a big padded winter Parka type thing which makes me look like a telly tubby but is very warm plus a shorter rainproof casual hooded jacket. Both from Trespass, both incredibly practical but neither really suit me and I look messy and unkempt.
I am mid 40s, size 14 short hourglass with a bit of a tummy. Incredibly short waisted which causes a huge issue with fit of coats as the waist is never in the right place. I don't suit neutral colours much except chocolate brown. No khaki/black/navy, more red and green and teal.
If I look at the kind of coats which go with the look I like they are either parkas (swamp me) or bikers (cut me off at my most unflattering place and not warm enough). I don't really suit padded coats much as they bulk me out. What I do suit is blazers and formal fitted wool coats but that's not what I need these days.
I am honestly really stuck. Any ideas so gratefully received.
