Magnetic Eyelashes

I thought my DGD would enjoy a present of these.

I have established that there are two types; those that need a layer of magnetic eyeliner, and those that work by sandwiching your own lashes.

Thoughts on the pros and cons of the two methods would be gratefully received, also recommended brands.

I've not read many good reviews. Hopefully someone who has got them to work will be along shortly...

I bought a cheapo pair to sandwich my lashes between and have yet to manage to get them on properly !!

BillywigSting · 25/01/2021 18:33

I get on well with the eyelure sandwich your own eyelashes ones (much better than I do with glue tbh). Think the ones I have are called mink or something along those lines. They were about a tenner from asda.

The eyeliner ones are godawful. I got a set from superdrug (the only ones they sell) The eyeliner is very thick like tar, very very difficult to get off and made my eyes itch and burn for days. Also needed a VERY thick layer to get the lashes to stick even a tiny bit and they never really felt secure. I had to bin them after about ten minutes. Utter waste of money.

Jury seems out at the moment as to which method is better.

I cannot use the sandwich type at all but I find the eyeliner ones dead easy. I have worn them quite a lot and they have felt pretty secure.

You do definitely do need a thick line though. I tried to get away with a thinner one and then they felt a bit precarious.

The eyeliner ones are brilliant! It’s so weird, you can paint the eyeliner on the back of your hand and the lash will stick to it. Bizarre!

Luxembourgmama · 25/01/2021 19:37

I have magnetic eyeliner ones and they really do work

GnTplease · 25/01/2021 21:22

I bought the eyeliner ones. Probably the most Redic lockdown purchase so far Grin - not going anywhere, not seeing anyone, but Instagram ads and wine were a bad combo.
Tried them once and I think they will be good once I get the hang of them, first time application the liner was a bit messy and they lifted at the inner corner.

SaltedCaramelIcedLatte · 25/01/2021 21:55

I brought the eyeliner ones for my niece and she absolutely loves them...they look so good as well!

Girlintheframe · 25/01/2021 22:09

What brand of the eyeliner ones work best pls?

Bluntness100 · 25/01/2021 22:14

I got the liner ones and they didn’t stay on. The glue ones are simoly much easier.

Icanflyhigh · 25/01/2021 22:31

I bought some magnetic eyeliner ones, I think they're great! They were off amazon about 7 quid for three pairs - so fat I've worn them for a work zoom meeting and I love them!

Beautifullymixed · 26/01/2021 05:52

@Icanflyhigh Can you link the ones you used please. They sound great, and so does the price!

LucyLatimer · 26/01/2021 05:54

I’ve found lolas lashes really good. You just need to make sure that you clean the liner from the magnets after each use

jay55 · 26/01/2021 06:30

My friend lost her lashes to chemo and has tries the eyeliner ones, very easy to use. Unfortunately the set she got they were all pretty massive so looked a bit spider on the face.

Yes please! Which ones?

The huge range on Amazon is very baffling.
