Has anyone used this or a similar online clothing styling service? How was it?

I really like the idea of someone picking out things I wouldn’t usually go for in the hope I might find some new styles/colours that I like - I’m stuck in a rut!

A mixed bag, here. I adored my first box, did exactly what you are after, but haven't kept anything from the two subsequent boxes. I am giving it one last hurrah, but using it cleverly and getting it to try and find jeans that actually fit me. And I'm still really thankful for that box that forced me to think about what I actually wear, rather than what I want to wear. It's slowly made me overhaul my wardrobe.

This code gets us both money off if you do decide to go for it:

Ohhh thank you for the code and also for the feedback!

Also, the thing you can do every day where you choose the clothes you like or not is my new favourite thing to do with my morning coffee 😂

Stealthynamechange · 25/01/2021 15:19

Hi

I liked it, only used it twice as particularly after jeans, theirs are well fitting & saved me a lot of time. They did send me summer tops in winter which I was annoyed about. Second box was loads better - I was very clear on what I wanted. I'd say definitely worth a try, depending on what you are looking for.

BerryPieandCustard · 25/01/2021 18:07

I’ve been thinking about this for a while, I’ve used your code and got a box booked in every other month!
Thanks

RichPetunia · 25/01/2021 18:15

I used it and from two boxes only kept a set of earrings. For me, it was unfortunately a big fail. There was a great website a few years ago that would give recommendations online and you could order direct from them or buy it yourself from the retailer. Sorry! Can’t remember the name - wish I could because they were really good.

limesoda · 25/01/2021 18:20

Thank you!

EuroTrashed · 25/01/2021 18:23

I did it twice and didn't keep a thing. THe ads they keep serving me up on facebook do however show things that would be right up my alley. What they actually sent was not in accordance with my specific request (I wanted tailored dark trousers; they sent frumpy a.f. palazzo type things in wafty printed fabric and wide legs - the very opposite of what a hobbit like me should be wearing).
A lot of what they sent also seemed very expensive for what it was - danish labels I don't know with quality levels that didn't match price tag)

EuroTrashed · 25/01/2021 18:24

also - if you don't decide to keep going, it's really worth asking them to delete all personal data as they take an awful lot of information.

BornIn78 · 25/01/2021 18:26

As above, what I was seeing on Facebook ads was right up my street, what they actually sent me all went back.

BlueSussex · 25/01/2021 18:31

I use it and absolutely love it - here is my £15 off code Grin

I like the fact they took so much info from me with regards to body shape/colours/all my likes and dislikes. If you don't want leather or don't want polyester or don't want green, you just tell them. I have really got out of a style rut and so look forward to getting the boxes.

Oh and yes, they do the best own brand soft skinny jeans in the world!!

SilverOtter · 25/01/2021 18:33

I've had three boxes from them so far, really liked most of the stuff they sent. The jeans in particular I really like.

I like it because I can't be trusted to pick clothes, I find it tedious and I like the surprise factor😂

pingster · 25/01/2021 18:37

My first box was really good and I kept everything, and it wasn't things I'd normally have bought. Next two boxes everything went back - they really hadn't taken any notice of all my daily style ratings or preferences. I'm not going to be using them again

tenterden · 25/01/2021 19:07

I am a big fan. I have had some lovely pieces from brands I have heard of (Mint Velvet, Boden, Mango) and brands I hadn't heard of but now love.

I am very specific in what I do and don't want and have it all set to the lowest amounts of money so it doesn't end up too spendy and it's all free returns anyway not that I return much

Give it a go OP and see if it works for you - if you use a £15 off link then you can't lose - not like you are signing up to anything regular.

I loved this feature! But, I ended up cancelling my first order after reading some dreadful reviews.

I've had a few Lookiero boxes. I think I've had three altogether. The first one, I loved and kept all of. The second I was less keen and kept two things. The third I only kept one thing, but it was a coat, so the biggest item iyswim. I felt as if I had to explain a lot what my style and preferences are and then they still didn't get it quite right... I thought a lot of their tops were £££ for what they were. Tops were never long enough, despite me forever saying; I am tall, no short tops! So, basically decided I am better buying my own clothes! So that's what I do now. I have got some lovely bits in the sales which are just what I want; sustainable fibres, the right colours, the right shapes etc. Much cheaper.

But, I do like clothes and shopping. If I hated it, I'd get a clothes box every month!

ChelseaCat · 25/01/2021 22:55

I’ve done it! And I’ve signed my husband up too! Our boxes are coming on the second 🎊💃🎉

I had high hopes but was disappointed in the end. Only kept one pair of jeans from the 3 boxes I ordered. They just never seemed to get me - they ask for specific reasons you have rejected each item to build up a profile of you supposedly...but they sent me the same top Im a a style I'd described as "frumpy" in another box, just in a different colour!
The only good thing was returns were very easy 😉

BlueSussex · 26/01/2021 13:34

I am also addicted to the daily styling thingy Grin

My stylist really seems to get me. I just checked my stitchfix account and out of four boxes (five items in each) I have only returned 5 items overall. I might have returned another two but you get a 20% discount if you keep everything so if there is one item you aren't 100% on sometimes it pays to keep it and gift it or even sell it on as you have effectively got it for free.

One was a Mango shirt I gifted to DD because I already had an almost identical one from FCUK, and one was a skirt that I decided to keep and am glad I did as I hadn't realised that the style had become trendy again Blush

I don't have much to cheer me up at the moment so the box when it arrives has me spinning with excitement!!

ChelseaCat · 02/02/2021 19:02

Update (if anyone cares!) - my box has arrived and everything will be going back unfortunately

They are definitely things I wouldn’t have chosen for myself but not in a good way. I don’t really feel that they paid attention to my comments. Never mind, it was a bit of fun!

Rufffles · 02/02/2021 19:05

@RichPetunia Was it Dressipi by any chance?

tobee · 05/03/2021 04:56

I've just got my first box. I was surprised I liked them as much as I did and they fit well.

Obviously, from reading people's comments, it's very hit and miss.

Acunningruse · 05/03/2021 09:50

Interested to read this as I've just taken delivery of my second box. I liked that this time there was a 'sneak peek' feature so I could edit the items before they arrived.

Last time I think I wasn't specific enough about my shape and colours which suit me and I only kept one dress which I think I would have worn a lot if not for lockdown.

This time I was incredibly specific in my notes to stylist. I said I wanted clothes to transition from winter to spring, abs that I love the idea of a midi dress but being 5 foot I wasn't sure I could pull it off...

This time I love 3 of the pieces, the dress is absolutely lovely on if I say so myself and I can really see it working in winter and spring. They also sent a beautiful mint green sweater which again feels like a really transitional piece. These were both Mauvette which I think is their own brand? A pair of navy trousers from this brand also which are a teensy bit snug on the waist so debating whether to keep these. Going back is a short long sleeved tea dress which is too similar to the midi dress in pattern, and a green long sleeved blouse which feels a bit shiny and sweaty for the price. But overall very pleased as I would never have found the midi dress abs I feel a million dollars in it.

BlueSussex · 05/03/2021 13:06

Oh that sounds good. It's so nice when you get something you feel great in and know you will actually wear!

I have to wait another few weeks for my next box - please feel free to use my £15 off code if you want to try it out risk free.....
