Bikini line trim?

I don't want the completely bare look. I just want to remove most of the hair length, if that makes sense. Are scissors my only option? I tried that before and got a really uneven look.

Help! Any advice or product recommendations please?

Just use a bikini trimmer and ‘hover’, holding the blade the distance from the skin that you want the hair to be, so that you cut the length - if that makes sense?
