Best way to remove leg hair

Can anyone recommend the best way to remove leg hair? I've tried to avoid shaving over the years and pre-kids I used to get my legs waxed. Now I only have time for something at home but my epilator is so painful I tend to spend most of the time a hairy beast. Would an epilator you use in he shower or one of those home laser things be a good option? I've got dark curly hair and olive skin if that makes a difference.

Different things suit different people.
Why have you tried to avoid shaving ?

Because it only seems to work for a day at a time. Beyond day one it looks like my legs are covered with black dots.

I wax at home in the summer months. I don’t find it too bad Confused

I was going to mention the Philips lumea but I don't think that would work on your skin colour. Home waxing sounds like the best bet, if you can get the hot wax you melt in the microwave it's better than cold wax strips.

Or stay hairy? It's January, I am very rarely hair free this time of year!

@SirSamuelVimes which microwave melt one is good?

SirSamuelVimes · 23/01/2021 19:27

I used to use the Veet one but it was years and years ago, there's probably better now.

I've used wax strips at home (don't have a microwave and can't get one as we've not enough space) but they seem to do half a job. I'm left with lots of half hairs so even with tweezering afterwards my legs don't seem hair free for long.

SirSamuelVimes I've been a hairy beast for most of the past six years. It's time for a change!

I have an in-shower epilator - I find it much less painful than the one I had before which was used dry. Just running it over my legs in the bath is completely fine.

I also use the Lumea though and that keeps the hairs away for much longer.

You can get warm wax pots that you melt in hot water too. Maybe worth a go? I was the same with strips. Deeply rooted hair!

I've tried the pots you heat in water. They weren't terribly effective. I think my leg hair's made of titanium or something.
