Desperate scrabble in make up bag for a eye brow pencil - I buy loads but they hide from me. Saw one I hadn't seen before with a slanted tip so that is normally an eyebrow pencil. In the light of my work's toilet there is a definite green or blue tinge to them. Still, keeps things looking interesting doesn't it??? I wish I could say this is the first time but no. I have been known to put a navy kohl on my brows.

Oh no op! This did make me smile a bit though. Style it out! Act like it is deliberate. Maybe you'll set a new trend..?

Deathraystare · 22/01/2021 09:30

Hopefully my glasses cover them!

Ah deathray, it's you! I responded without reading your username Grin

DinosaurOfFire · 22/01/2021 09:54

What colour is your hair? Could it be close enough that you have coordinated with either your hair colour, eye colour or eye make up? (Clutches at straws). That being said, lots of alternative bright hair colours involve also changing your eyebrow colour to match so it shouldn't look too out of place depending on your workplace...

ErrolTheDragon · 22/01/2021 10:13

This could become a thing, couldn't it? Grin

Deathraystare · 22/01/2021 10:15

Hello *@ParisJeTAime

@Dinosaur Huh! You really are clutching at straws! My hair is darkish golden brown said so on the packet), eyes blueish, eye shadow brownish. Not a fashionista but hoping if no one looks to0 near, thank you 2 metre rule!!!) they will not see my mistake! My top is light blue floral so it won't go with that either!

Do an image search 'coloured eyebrows' - turns out some people do it on purpose. Hopefully yours aren't like the ones below which look like a pair of exotic caterpillars Grin

LaMarschallin · 22/01/2021 10:20

Didn't read the thread title properly and thought it was one of those "What colour are my eyes?" threads.*

This is so much better Smile
Why not see how many people you can convince into believing this is a thing?
In fact - given their shape - rainbow eyebrows could catch on.

*Answer: blue/green/grey/brown/hazel.
And the people reading the form you're filling in won't mind if you say blue, but your boyfriend says they're aqua with a hint of periwinkle.
No, they do not change colour according to your mood. Put the Mills and Boon down.

DearTeddyRobinson · 22/01/2021 10:30

Grin OP I had a similar thread a while ago. I stupidly used eyelash dye to dye my brows, they were a fetching shade of navy for a few days till they started to fade. I'm quite fair so they were most, um, striking BlushGrin

ParisJeTAime · 22/01/2021 10:49

Oh God, dye is probably a bit more alarming! I suppose you could cover with eyebrow pencil? Or did you just make it a statement?

IReallyNeedMoreGin · 22/01/2021 10:59

I once sharpened my eyebrow pencil right after I'd sharpened a red lip liner. Transfer of the red liner onto the brown pencil resulted in a dark pink set of brows. Didn't realise till a couple of hours later! 😁

FlibbertyGiblets · 22/01/2021 11:19

Hurhurhur at these, made my day. Grin

DearTeddyRobinson · 22/01/2021 14:40

Well it was during the first lockdown so I wasn't seeing anyone apart from DH and the Dcs who didn't seem to mind Grin

Deathraystare · 23/01/2021 07:34

  • @ErrolTheDragon* Sadly the NHS won't let me open the link. Doesn't want to encourage me.....

@LaMarschallin Oh that is funny! Especially the Mills and Boon thing! My eyes are a rather boring blue shade but they do seem to have a lovely turquoise hint when I use a shade of mauve eye shadow.

@DearTeddyRobinson Ha ha! Glad I am not the only daft one out there. I have sharpened a red pencil then gone onto brown but I think your navy wins!!!

ParisJeTAime · 23/01/2021 09:56

Oh wow, that is a very big statement!

HippyChickMama · 23/01/2021 10:13

Not eyebrows but I was working a busy night shift a few years ago and was recovering from a nasty cold, the skin around my nostrils was dry and cracked and very painful. I had been intermittently rubbing Vaseline lip balm on the cracked skin until halfway through the 12 hour shift a colleague finally pointed out it was a red tinted one.

Deathraystare · 25/01/2021 08:36

@ErrolTheDragon

Do not encourage me to do stupid things! I do not need your help!

I used to shave the tail bit of my brows then pencil them in, yes, sometimes navy though this was not deliberate.

Why shave? A stupid thing going around my school! I now have no tails to my brows!

Luckily I have no daughter, otherwise she would be nagged stupid about stuff no to do (basically anything I did when young!)

In the olden days when we could go out, I had a stupid idea of using Immac to shape my brows before a New Years eve party, I also smeared a bit on my top lip.

My mum rang will it was doing its magic so I left it on a bit too long.

When I removed it, a few layers of skin had been burnt off. I went to the party looking like I'd blow torched my face, sporting angry red brows and a red, slightly weeping moustache area.

ParisJeTAime · 25/01/2021 09:14

Oof ouch @SmileyClare!

I did something a bit like that when I was a teenager, getting ready for a 'semi-formal', which I think might be something we only had in Ulster in the nineties tbh! I did a series of very stupid things to my visage. First, I had heard some nonsense about orange oil being good for spots, so what did I do? Rubbed ORANGE PEEL on my cheek bones.

When this (obviously) didn't have the desired effect, I thought "oh, I know, toothpaste", all fine, but the toothpaste in question was Euthymol! If you've ever used that, you will know it is potent stuff! I had huge, red marks on my cheekbones. I now have rosacea and that is where I tend to get it. I sometimes wonder if that episode is what triggered it!
