Maternity nightwear

I'm losing the will to live! All I can find are long leg/sleeves nightwear and my built in radiator of a baby means that these are far too warm at the moment. I just want to be comfortable at night without resorting to one of DH's tshirts. Even ebay second hand maternity nightwear is expensive!

Can someone point me in the direction of where to buy some reasonably priced maternity nightwear? preferably a shorts and tshirt set or a nightdress. Bonus if it is suitable for breastfeeding too.

Hello
My Daughter has just had her first baby, she has to stay in hospital for a week and has sent me a plea to find her some nursing nightdresses tomorrow.

I’m struggling, nothing in Next online. Any suggestions on alternatives, do button up nightshirts work?

We have very few shops here, I can look in Matalan, the supermarkets, I don’t think new look do any in store.

Just had a thought, I’ll look at Amazon, see if I can get a delivery tomorrow, but if you have an alternative suggestions I would be grateful.

On another note, feeling sad, our baby is already 3 days old and I can’t see her a our hosp still has strict covid rules .

Thank you

I know you said no long sleeves, but these are some kind of magical bamboo that keep you cool in hot weather and warm in cold. I got two pairs when I was pregnant and they are still my favourite pyjamas now my baby is nearly 4 years old!

@Firsttimenannie Congratulations Nannie ❤️ I do hope you get to meet your granddaughter soon! I know the covid rules are frustrating - we had a baby this time last year and it was weird having no visitors!

As for nursing nightdresses - I found button up nightshirts great. I had bought a few vest style tops etc and I was often cold in the night when sitting up to feed so I actually stopped using them all and just wore long sleeve button down nightdresses 😊 I got some great ones for £10 each in Primark of all places last year! It was great just to be able to unbutton at the front but still have my shoulders etc covered for warmth 😊

Amazon have loads. I struggled to find any on the high street and the companies that did have them were always out of stock.

I've got a night dress that you can lift up the cover at the front to reveal a breast. Very easy for breastfeeding, they're super comfy and they wash & dry quickly.

Firsttimenannie · 02/11/2021 06:10

Thank you very much. Really tough not seeing them yet but compared to many we are lucky

I’ve ordered a couple off Amazon due today but I’ll pop to primark and see what they have.
Thank you for responding. I appreciate it.

Firsttimenannie · 02/11/2021 06:12

Thank you to eveyone that commented. I’ll pop to primark this morning and I’m expecting an Amazon delivery later.
It won’t be so difficult when she is home as the house will be warm, she is finding the hospital really cold.
