What's it called now? Was Blisteze

I used to use a metal tube of something called Blisteze for cold sores snd if my lips were super chapped. It was a small thin tube with a red metal lid and I don't think it's around any more or if it is, I don't know how it's rebranded. My lips are so sore too. Does it exist or is there anything close? I like the Bkistex blue tub but it's not the same 😕

Think it’s called Blistex now.

mawbroon · 20/01/2021 22:21

Yes, same stuff but called Blister.
It still does that thing where you squeeze the tube the tiniest bit but it still squirts out at 100mph 😄

ohidoliketobe · 20/01/2021 22:21

Blistex relief cream

mawbroon · 20/01/2021 22:21

BLISTEX fuckin autocorrect

polkadotpjs · 20/01/2021 23:18

Is it still in metal or plastic ? Anyone got a link. I can't wait to use it again on my shrivelled husks of lips

I've looked everywhere and the blistex website said it was unavailable last time I looked

evilharpy · 21/01/2021 00:57

This stuff is the nearest I can find, it looks like it might have been discontinued :( that's shit, it was brilliant stuff.

Carmex is good too, if you're looking for a replacement, as is Eight Hour Cream.

EatsFartsAndLeaves · 21/01/2021 02:20

Lansinoh nipple cream is the best thing for chapped lips (and nipples, obvs). It's expensive but if you just want to try it you can get sachets of it on ebay.

You have to warm it to body temperature to make it runny enough to apply, and it feels sticky for a few seconds until it sinks in to your skin. But I promise it's worth it.

bellagogosdead · 21/01/2021 07:13

this is it I think, says out of stock though. Sad

PalacePaper · 21/01/2021 07:29

I've been using this one and found it really good - I don't think it's quite the same as the one in the metal tube but it's sorted my dry lips out when nothing else was working.

Blistex you will get it in your local chemist.

LynetteScavo · 21/01/2021 08:11

It's amazing stuff - I always keep a tube for dry lip emergencies.
It seems to be out of stock everywhere rather than discontinued, maybe it's a supply chain issue?

GavsCloakOfInvisibility · 21/01/2021 08:13

Another vote for nipple cream if you can't get hold of Blistex.

AprilThe8th · 21/01/2021 08:14

It's been discontinued. It was the only thing that worked for me.Gutted!

ThePricklySheep · 21/01/2021 08:15

The okeefe’s one got a load of recommendations on another thread.

TinkersRucksack · 21/01/2021 08:21

Blistex is no longer made - I emailed the manufacturer!

Nothing comes close. Am bereft

Coffee4Queen · 21/01/2021 08:21

The relief cream was my holy grail but it’s been unavailable here for the past few months :( I have had to buy it from a US website

Is this this stuff? Not discontinued but a supply issue

I can’t believe this, I have tried all the above mentioned ones but they aren’t as good 😰

OhioOhioOhio · 21/01/2021 08:25

There is something similar in a white tube.

WithASpider · 21/01/2021 08:25

I bought some Blistex Medicated relief cream on ebay for about £4, but the original ones are going for £30+. The one i bought was rubbish.

I'm currently using Jack Black Intense Therapy lip balm, £7 ish from amazon and it's amazing.

Used to use O'Keefs but developed an allergy to it.

chocolatespiders · 21/01/2021 08:30

Awful news if not available. I used to apply at night and by morning lips were smooth it was like magic.
Might try small chemist's.
Palmers cheap lip balm is good. I prefer the push up tube one.

idontlikealdi · 21/01/2021 08:32

The blistex intensive moisture in the white tube is just as good, it's the only thing that works on my lips as it actually penetrated doesn't just sit on top like Carmel etc.

I got it on amazon a couple of weeks ago.

chocolatespiders · 21/01/2021 19:32

There is hope!!

There are so many threads on this (not a criticism op) and so many people like me who loved it. Why on earth have they discontinued it?.
I use carmex now (don't get cold sores but do get those little cuts at the side of my mouth). It's OK but not as good.
