Broken leg....what do I wear to keep warm?

Hi! I'm freshly out of hospital with a badly broken leg...any tips what I can wear to keep my un injured leg warm? I have a boot with fleece lining on broken leg so that's warm...just the other is freezing all the time. I can take the boot off but my attempt at putting leggings on is not to be repeated as I hurt all the bandaged areas (2 lots of surgery and lots of metal work).

Have you got an old pair of joggers - cut off one leg and it’ll be easier to pull over the cast.

Oh yikes you poor thing.

How about cutting one leg off of a pair of cheap jogging bottoms? Would that work?

Hope you have a speedy recovery. At least you can take some solace in the fact that no one’s really going anywhere right now.

Get leggings, cut off the one that is for the broken leg and tuck it into the top of the boot? or if you have old jeans do the same? Stockings under a long skirt? Is it the whole leg or just the bottom bit that has a boot on it?

You poor thing.

Not clothes but could you get an electric blanket to sit.
Clothes wise a long loose dress would be most comfortable.

You poor thing, I know what it's like.
When I broke my leg (initially full leg cast from toe to thigh) I wore baggy men's jersey pjs with one leg cut off, just a cheapy pair. But also I tended to be under a blanket most of the time.

A leg warmer?

Long over the knee sock?

Is it a full leg cast or just up to the knee?

Sickoffamilydrama · 20/01/2021 17:35

In my younger years I had my legs in plaster a fair few times. If you can get hold of those tracksuits with poppers down the sides threat were popular never in the 90s. Or instead of cutting them off I found splitting the leg then have socks and tucking the bottom into them helped and was less cold.

Hope you feel better soon Flowers

What about these

randomsabreuse · 20/01/2021 17:45

I'd assume sports specialist shops would still have warm ups with full leg zips - as you'd wear them after warm up until you're ready to compete so they must exist. I had a pair in the late 90s, worn over my sports kit between rounds...

Some thing like a blanket with sleeves for sofa time?

Wide legged yoga pants without a cuff might fit if you go up a size?
